We have our standing business which includes the approval of our minutes from our meeting on March 5th, our current claims and our payroll allowance docket from February 23rd to March 15th. 1:23 – 2:030

No old business. Straight into new business. We have item A and B will be swearing in two new reserve officers, Dylan Kinsner and Steven Maul. So we will call for Chief of Police to make that presentation. All right. Would you like to swear both in at the same time or separately? Uh, it doesn't matter to me. Whatever they whatever they prefer, sir. All right. Well, we got Steven Mahal if you want to come up here. And Dylan Kzer. So, Steven's in the blue and Dylan's in the white. Um, go

2:01 – 2:460

these two gentlemen in our process for the the reserve department for quite a while now. Um, we started back with the fit test last year and then written test. They both uh passed and excelled on the fit test and the written test. Um then we put them through a pretty long background investigation on both of them. Uh we've interviewed them. Um had several interviews. We've had several talks with them. So we both we all believe that they're going to be a really good fit for our department and they're they're going to they're matching well with us and um be really good officers for the city of Charle Town. So we would like to ask for a motion and vote to swear both these gentlemen in. I'll make that motion. Motion by second by Maggie Wild. Any questions? All in favor say I.

2:440

I. Any opposed? That's unanimous. Let's get you gentlemen sworn in.

3:41 – 4:180

So help God. So help. Congratulations. Thank you. Don't go anywhere. I'm not ask for anything else. You have talked to him, right? Yeah. Congratulations, gentlemen. Thank you for choosing to.

4:15 – 4:400

Thank you, Mr. Forget this part. I always get in trouble for this. All right. One, two, three. Again. One, two, three. All right. Good job, guys. Welcome aboard.

4:44 – 5:140

And this is where everybody leaves because they want to go hang out with the pool kids. Thanks. All right. The only other item of business that we had on our agenda today were approving or selecting a a landscaping quote. So, one of the challenges with with us, you know, with the budget cuts that we suffered, we did lose one full-time city maintenance position and that has placed a a burden on our existing staff

5:13 – 7:110

that would be responsible for mowing and everything. And one of the more troublesome places that we have to mow are the medians. We have four of the little medians on State Road 62 that go from um Jim Lewis Parkway to the Bolero. Those are our responsibility. And then we have of course the nine islands on Market Street that we have to mow for as well. That takes a lot of time from our staff because of the way they have to block them off. And it it just one rainy se one rainy week really put them behind all the grass mowing. So I sought some landscaping quotes about having another company come in on a contract basis and manage those. I solicited quotes for edging, weeding, mowing, and litter removal of the medians on Market Street and Highway 62 in those in that zone and on Market Street for the 32- week growing period and for weekend watering of approximately 12 hanging misspelled candy hanging baskets on the city square for approximately 14 weeks in the summer. Um we would like to do the hanging baskets this year because we're opening the commons and it'll be really nice and pretty up here. But the weekend watering needs to be done. So this would be just for weekend watering for those 14 weeks in the summer. I solicited from five cutting edges lawns forever long greenscapes of blue skies lawn and landscape. Cutting edges did not submit a quote. Bonds bonds came in with the lowest responsible and responsive quote at $10,860 for that for the total. Since this is a new company, this was a company that had signed up through our bid notification system online. And since it was a company we had not previously worked with, I did reach out seeing that it was the low quote and I received three reference letters um from companies that use this service. And so I I have those for you um to look over. I also verified that they do hold the million-doll

7:09 – 7:520

insurance policy that we require and assuming that we approve their quote, they will add the city as uninsured and get that over to us with their W9. Um, and we will work with Perry to get an actual contract for them. So, if you are amenable seeing their their letters, know that they are the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. I would entertain a motion to award this landscape contract. um and authorize me to execute that with with Perry's final approval. I will make a motion. Motion made by Maggie Wild. Second by Thompson. Any questions on that? Hearing none. All in favor say I. I.

7:49 – 8:230

I. Any opposed? That's unanimous. All right. And once you've signed, that is all of the items. Pair. Did you have anything we needed to do for you? No. I think you talked to me about the easement. So, we're good. Okay. All right. So, we've seen a motion to adjurnn. I'll make that motion. Motion by Ernie Thompson. Second. Second by Maggie Wild. All in favor say I. I. We. Short and sweet.
