Planning and Zoning Commission - Regular Meeting

Nobody. Ready? All right, we'll go ahead and call this regular meeting of December 17th of the Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission to Order. We'll start with a roll call, please.

Chair human here. Vice Chair Koshel here. Commissioner Quinn here. Commissioner Gala here. Commissioner Schwarzer and Commissioner Bilstein here. We have quum. Thank you. And as mentioned earlier, Commissioner Schwarzer is um excused tonight. So we'll start with our pledge of allegiance. Mr. Billstein. I allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Thank you very much. All right. So, ladies and gentlemen, um members of the audience um may address any item that's not on the agenda. However, state statute prohibits us from discussing that item if it's not on the agenda. Um, but the board and commission will listen to your concerns and we'll have staff follow up with you um on any questions that you might raise. We'll be moving on to our consent agenda. Uh we have five items on the consent agenda. Um if there's anyone who would like to speak on any of the items on the consent agenda, we were presented these items and reviewed them at the um prior meeting here at the um the um study session. Thank you. Um but if there's anyone here that would like to speak on any of the consent agenda items, um I would ask you to raise your hand now. All right. Seeing none, um we have a couple of notes on our consent agenda item items. Darcy, would you like to come up?

Um vice chair, would you like me to start with item two? Yes, please. Item two, the uh seasons at McQueen. Um so on the agenda memo before you there is um three amended stipulations. So if this were to get voted on it would be with the amended stipulations from the agenda memo.

Great. Thank you. And those were you discussed those in your presentation. So recapping. Great. Thank you. And item number four, um it is the amendment of stipulation number five. The hours of live entertainment shall be limited to the following days and hours. Hours of outdoor speaker operation is same same as live entertainment. Great. Thank you. So, uh to recap, that was 5 to 10 p.m. That's correct.

For both live entertainment and the speakers. Okay. Great. Thank you to the applicant for that consideration. If I could, vice chair, um Darcy, just for the members of the audience that might not be aware why we made that change to this that stipulation, just a brief explanation. Yeah. Um we made that amendment um due to some of the concerns from planning and zoning commission um for the hours of that outdoor speaker operation. So, we did amend that to end at 1000 p.m. just like the live entertainment that's existing within the shopping center already as well.

Great. Adjacent to the residential and providing some buffer there in timelines. Okay, thank you Thomas. Sufficient. Okay, great. Um, I think that's the the only items we needed clarification on the consent agenda. Do we have a anyone that would like to make a motion on our consent agenda this evening? Vice Chair. Yes.

I would like to make a motion that we accept the consent agenda with modifications to the stipulations for item number two, seasons. Um that we uh accept the modification to stipulations uh for outdoor speakers on item four and Okay, I'll second. All right, we have a motion and a second. Commissioner go. I'll recuse myself from item five as my children attend St. Mary Basha.

Great. Thank you. Um, with that, we'll take a vote. All those in favor of approving the consent agenda as noted with the stipulation revisions say I. I. I. I. I. Opposed. Okay. Motion passes for the consent agenda. Um, thank you. Moving on to member comments and announcements. Does anyone have any comments or announcements chair? Just wishing everybody a very merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, happy new year. We'll see you guys on the other side.

Wonderful. Thank you. Yeah, I'd echo those comments. And I also want to um go on the record um I have the opportunity to be on a um stakeholders or like a a citizen committee for um the airport and just want everyone to know that there's airport day on January 24th. So it's going to be a very fun time out at the Chandler airport. Um so put that on your calendar. Hopefully you can make it out. It'll be a great day to get exposure um for our airport and to see all the benefits and the great things that it does for our community. So, happy holidays, merry Christmas and all of that. And we'll look forward to seeing you all uh before we move on. Lauren, you had comments. I almost forgot.

Commission. I just wanted to let you know at our next meeting, it will be a special meeting. We're coming to see our general plan for the It's required that are required to attend two planning zoning commissions. So January 2026 meeting at 5:30 for no commission are required at a different location. So, we will be at the Chandler Museum. Uh, I'm finishing up my memo and we hope to get it out to you end of this week or uh first thing Monday. So, you have a couple of weeks to take a look at the the draft and its uh final version. Um, and any questions or comments you have, please bring them to that meeting and we'll discuss. So, look forward to it.
