DEPARTMENT UPDATES FOR COMMITTEE:

Chantell Hotaling and Ken Warner (Board of Elections) –

During the month of August 2026, Cayuga County BOE: - Processed/updated 645 various registrations, address changes, party changes & name changes. - We also audited and verified data changes for the upcoming General Election through the national and state data bases as well as local changes. - August is a relatively slow month and our staff has been able to take some time off. Having such a small staff and the demands of elections require staff to limit time off to only a few times during the year. - Commissioners Hotaling and Warner, have prepared our preliminary budget and we look forward to meeting with fiscal and legislative leaders to finalize. - We also are looking at poll worker staffing the we will need for the General Election. - Commissioners Hotaling and Warner completed a day Cyber Security training in Rochester.

Amanda Morgan (Clerk of the Legislature) –

NYMIR Risk Management Review - Received the completed annual underwriting survey results from Roger Cuva, Risk Management Team Leader for NYMIR. Following NYMIR’s review of Cayuga County, the County was advised that there are no recommendations at this time. Budget Analysis & Review Training ○ Coordinated and sent a reminder regarding the upcoming Budget Analysis and Review Training presented by Dan Acquilano, Manager of Local Official Training for the Local Official Training Unit. The training is intended for town and village board members, supervisors, mayors, school board members, and other local government officials. ○ Training Details: - Date: Wednesday, September 23, 2026 - Time: 4:00 p.m. - Location: Cayuga Community College – Student Lounge (M214) Budget Meetings - Assisted with scheduling upcoming budget meetings for County Department Heads and coordinated the meeting invitations, including the appropriate Committee Chairs. Cayuga GOLD Employee Appreciation - Assisted with Cayuga GOLD’s employee appreciation initiative, including coordinating the purchase, organization, and delivery of ice cream to County departments on Wednesday, September 2. Ice cream was distributed to departments as a way to recognize and thank County employees for all they do. - Assisted with coordinating the delivery effort alongside Tom Bunn, Jenny Indelicato, Amanda O’Grady, Joe Taylor, Diann Ferris, Densie Prieto, and Kristy Capone, who helped deliver ice cream to County departments. Student Government Day - Began preparations for the annual Student Government Day, scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. Will be coordinating with participating schools and County departments regarding the event and student participation.

Historian's:

- 30 Cartons of microfilms were returned to the office following the digitization through the DREAMS project. - Staff continues to assist with genealogy and deeds/property research requests. - Staff participated in the H3C Historian Coalition meeting and activities related to the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Scenic byway. - Continued operations on the White Pine Tree of Peace project, as part of the County's America 250 Commemoration

DREAMS Project Update:

· Migration of legacy records: - Records continue to be processed and migrated with our project vendor. The remaining records being processed are legacy digital in nature. - Approximately 113% of the project scope has been processed and migrated to date. · Project Fiscal Update: - Overall Project fiscal update [$4M Budget]. - Actual expenditure to date (FY2022-26) = $3,439,871.14. - Internal County RRC operations continue to administer and manage the new Laserfiche Cloud environment; conduct annual legacy records purge processes; and digitize/upload to Laserfiche Cloud any legacy departmental paper record requests received.
