Okay, we're going to go ahead and call the May 13, 2026 meeting to order. Roll call, please. Bob Houston, present. Jeff Lecher, Mike Morland is absent. Please rise for pledge. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. a motion to accept the agenda as presented. So move. All in favor? I'll second it. All in favor?

Need a motion to approve the work session minutes from April 29th, 2026, the sheriff's office, the blue shield grant, and April 30th, 2026, HMN Sheriff's edition for the IAC unit. So moved.

1:02 – 1:460

I'll second that. All in favor? Two votes. Four, zero against. Resolution 2644, Cass County Clerk's Office, approving a petition to vacate certain platted but unconstructed roadways within the Dickinson Manor subdivision pursuant to section 71.270 270 RSM. I need a motion. So move. I'll second that. Valerie staff report. This is an older subdivision um that was broke up into many smaller lots. The essentially the west half of it was never developed. There are platted roads in there that were never developed, never built out. Um one owner owns all of that property, wants to vacate them so they can rearrange those plats into larger lots for sale.

1:45 – 2:150

Thank you, Valerie. Any questions for her? No. At this time, we're going to open public comment for uh resolution 2644. If you'd like to speak for or against it, please step forward and state your name. Jim Gamble. Jim. Um I'm a I'm a realtor, Keller Williams, and this little here has his 20 acres, and we were having a real hard time trying to sell 47 individual lots with no roads.

2:12 – 4:090

Yeah. Um, so it was my idea just to say, you know, well, we got to plan this and and find, you know, four logical homeowners that can maybe build a home, build a homestead on 5 acres. And so that that started a process, and I'll just read these remarks real quick. Over the past several months, I've been navigating a process that was completely new to me, the reclatting of an abandoned development here in C County. Early on, I reached out to Bob Harden, good old friend, and simply asked, "Where do I start?" His advice was straightforward. Follow the process and work with Valerie McCovven. Replanting the scram was my idea, but I could not have done this without the trust and confidence of the property owners Bud and Jess Littleton led us here today who now lives in Nevada. They placed their faith in me to help navigate a process that none of us had been through before. And I'm grateful for their support throughout this journey. Since then, I've had the help the help of Allerie, my neighboring property owners, township representatives, uh Gary Mallerie, utility representatives, Kathy Lamberts and the county clerk's office, and Roy Silver with our survey team among others. And to be honest, this process has not been easy. There were moments when I felt where I felt it complicated, slow, and unfamiliar. But what I want to say today is that throughout the process, the people involved were informative, professional, and fair. They helped guide me down a path I had never navigated before and I'm grateful for that. At the end of the day, the result of all this work is a positive one. Four families will have the opportunity to build their homestead on a beautiful piece of Cass County property and create roots there for years to come. So before this vote, I simply want to publicly thank everyone who helped us get there. Government processes can sometimes get criticized, but in this case, I found the people who are willing to answer qu people who are willing to answer questions, provide direction, and help us move forward the right way. And for that, both myself and Bud are appreciative. Thank you.

4:07 – 4:420

Thank you, Jim. Appreciate it. Anyone else like to speak for or against resolution 2644? Seeing none, we're going to close the public comment portion of resolution 2644. Any further discussion? No. All in favor? Two votes for zero against. Resolution 2644 passes. Thank you all. Resolution 26445, Casc County Treasurer's Office, authorizing actions relating to repayment of previously distributed adult use marijuana sales tax revenue. I need a motion. So moved.

4:41 – 5:210

I'll second that. Steve, do you want to comment on that? Yeah, we just received another request from the Department of Revenues for another refunding amount sales tax we receive from the marijuana tax. And this resolution allows us to not have to do a resolution every time we get a request. So that this will allow us to do the new one plus any perpetuity. Thank you, Mr. Chesley. Any further discussion? All in favor? Two votes, four, zero against. Resolution 2645 passes. For the record, Cass County Clerk's office, uh, the destruction list will be put in the record. Kathy, any comment on that?

5:19 – 5:560

No, it's just the normal retention things that have met their retention cycle and we'll send him to the shredder. Okay. Thank you, Kathy. Uh, for the record, Cass County Recorders Office of Deeds certificate of training. He attended his mandatory training. That will be put on his official record. At this time, we're going to open the podium for any public comment. Seeing none, we're going to close the public comment portion. Commissioner communications. We're going to close. I have any on that. I need a motion to adjurnn. So move. I'll second that. All in favor? Two votes, four, zero against. We are a jerk.
