25:43 – 27:420

Good evening. I would just like to say um thank you to all the people that had the opportunity to be at the unveiling of the street name change for Dr. Samuel Thomas. It was a exciting day and it was very good and uh we finally got that done. That would be something very good for the community. Also, we got the Dress for Success fashion show is next Saturday the 13th at the Center for Arts. I would like to see everybody coming out to support it. Um the event is like a fundraiser to help me put health care services back in the schools. When we think about homelessness and lowincome families, we know they need food and clothes, but their well-being is also important. Um so to build their self, self-esteem and their character. Also, we doing the 5K bike and run event also on the 13th on next Saturday at Legend West Park. Uh, it will start at 8:00 and it will end at 11:00. It's a familyfriendly event. We're going to be doing face painting. We're going to be doing um music. Uh the icy truck be there, the fire truck be there, the police be there, the whole community going to try to be there to do the congratulation and the ribbon cutting of the new trail head on Alabama Street and um which is in Ward One. And I just want to just thank the city of Car and our entire community for just being together and uh helping each other and aiding each other where we need it. And also in ward le cment left a ward we did the marketplace it was very nice and everybody were asking me we going to do this all the time I said I don't know and so we had a wonderful time so we have a great community we want to keep

27:40 – 27:520

it that way we want to love everybody we want to be there for each other as we should thank you councilman Uglam

27:50 – 29:040

uh Councilman Uglam is just happy to be here Tonight I was not able to be here last month due to uh CO invading the Uglum House and uh I was somewhat spared but got to quarantine for quite a while because everybody else in the house had it. So it's nice to be here and nice for our family to be healthy. Uh my deepest condolences to the Lead Better family. Uh, I've known Greg for a long time and was a good friend and and uh my heart goes out to all them. I would like to do a shout out to Kathy Parsons and First Baptist Church on Dixie Street for having the cooling center open for uh people to escape the the heat when it reaches uh unbearable temperatures. and very nice of both them to make that happen. Uh and market night, I'd second that. That that that was a great event, very well attended and uh a big hit in our town. That's it.

29:04 – 30:180

Okay. I just want to um say also about the cooling center is they are in need of volunteers to work the cooling center just to be there when people come in um you know and get their need met whether it's water or just some place to sit down and cool off. Um and they're also accepting donations uh for water. Um, and I'm there is a flyer. I I don't have my copy with me, maybe on my phone, but there's several things and we can tag it on our website um on our Facebook page of the kind of um items they need for the cooling center. Um, I just want to say thank you all for all your support in the last four weeks of my knee surgery. Uh, I'm not a good patient and I'm very impatient. But anyway, thank y'all for last month making sure everything got done and Mr. Brooks and um, Mayor Pro Tim led better.

30:16 – 31:220

Hey, we're glad you're here, too. [laughter] Yeah. But um yeah, I think our market night was a great success. Um I think we had everyone had a good time there. And I spoke with a vendor who said she sold over $1,000 worth of jelly. Now you think about that. Most of the little jellies are like seven, eight, nine dollars. It takes a lot of jelly to make a thousand dollars. So you know, supporting our local um vendors was a great great thing, too. So, uh, and every time I drive by there, it is, I mean, there's people out there, there's families and children playing on the playground. So, um, I think that's been a great addition. And we're doing, um, we're upgrading some other parks around town. And, um, so I I I'm hoping that people can get out and enjoy, um, what the fruits of our labor to get their parks in better shape. Okay. Um, that is all I have. Mr. Brooks.

31:21 – 32:060
