Council Member Luther.

Thank you, Mayor. Just a couple of things. Thanks, everybody, for coming tonight. And I thought you did a great job. Great job with first readings. These are always hard for new council members. I did want to bring up a couple of things. And I'm pulling up an article in the newspaper that some of my colleagues saw. Lax oversight led to budget crisis. And this is in Kirkwood. And while a lot of our job is to have ward meetings and to come to meetings and to come to events and be involved on parks and boards, I think one of the most important things that we can do, public safety, obviously, and also financial oversight. And I simply want to say that I support any and all of our efforts to do a better job with managing our finances and being more transparent so that we never, ever, ever find ourselves here. That's all.

I always have something, Mayor. Thank you very much. It was a busy week. I was very glad to represent our city at multiple events. I had the pleasure of attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new nonprofit in our area, the St. Louis Adventist Community Service Center. Their mission is to provide our needy neighbors with great access to food, clothing, and the essential resources needed to thrive. So a great place, very nice people. So it is up on Hollenberg. On June 12th, I attended the Farmer's Barbecue at the Senior Division. It was held at the Recreation Center. Our Pattonville firemen, their community outreach program that they do, they want to see the people in the good times. And then they get to be friends. And then if something tragically happens, they can see them. They see a friendly face. So I think that is a great program that they're doing. And on June 12, attended the swimming party Watermelon Wonderland. It was for season pass holders, staff, and commission members. It was a great job by the parks division staff. I also appreciate the street department. They're beginning a very busy season. And I am excited about the 4th of July. I know we have one more meeting, but I said I know we're all preparing, and I know it is getting crazy for the Parks Department. And I also want to make an announcement. We've been kind of crazy, a little different schedule we have, but I do want to make an announcement that Mrs. Luther has agreed to chair the code subcommittee again. And I believe I do need, if you cannot do this, please let me know. So from Ward 1, Mr. Satal. From Ward 2, Mr. Thornburg. And number 4, Mr. Shearer. So I can get you some other information. And then Mr. Weshe has also agreed to chair the Business and Community Partnership Subcommittee. asked if Ms. Patel could be on that from Ward 2, Ward 3, Mr. Posada, and Ward 4, myself. So we will get further schedule. by the chair. And I do appreciate you for, thank you for serving. These subcommittees gives full council more information to serve our citizens of Bridgeton. And also, I just wanted to let you know, I put council communication, our council rules on everyone's dais. So if you could take a look at it, if you see anything that you don't have a question on, it just was changed so we really i don't know it just was changed on december 17th but please take a look at it put some notes and if you could get it back to me and then if we need to have some more discussion we'll have to make another subcommittee so appreciate that and that's all i have sir thank you thank you council members attell

Thank you, Mayor. I just wanted to report that I attended the Missouri Municipal League newly elected official training June 11th and 12th. And I just wanted to mention some of the topics that we covered during that time. And they were the fundamentals of municipal government, conducting city business, budgets, planning and zoning, economic development, the dignity index, revenue sources, public works contracting, and the Missouri Sunshine Law. So it was very informative, and there was a lot there. And I was happy to go, so that's all I have. Thank you.

Thank you, Mayor. First, thanks to everybody for coming out, especially since I know the weather tonight might not be the best. So hopefully it looks like it's doing pretty good looking at the windows up there. So hopefully it avoids us. Wanted to give a quick shout out to Missouri American Water at the bottom of the street I live on in West Haven, somebody ended up running over a fire hydrant over the weekend and caused a bit of an issue, but they were out there real fast taking care of it, and then they ended up getting it temp fixed, and then the next day they ended up doing a full fix on it, and they were pretty good with giving us information about what was going on. So stuff like that, it's never fun being without water, but it's always great whenever I'm dealing with some business and they're doing a good job of communicating what's going on. Also wanted to give a shout out to Parks and Rec. They ended up putting on the pool party that a bunch of people ended up going to for staff members, city council members, and any pool pass holders. It was a really good time. So I know a lot of work went into that, so thanks to the staff there. As my co-counsel said, we're going to be having the Ward 1 and Ward 2 meeting on the 24th at 7. The 4th of July, I've been getting a lot of people asking about parking passes. If you are in Ward 1 and you would like a parking pass, please go ahead and shoot me an email. I take them as a first come, first serve, and that's why I like doing it via email, because that way I can see exactly whenever you ended up asking. Wanted to give a quick call out to Bridget. I know you end up making all of our lives easier with stuff, but one thing that I think that's been going on behind the scenes that not everybody knows about is we're in the process of moving to a digital setup to get rid of all of this paper that we go through every two weeks. which takes a lot of her time, but also burns through a lot of city resources. And I've been working with her on a couple of the apps and things like that. So I've more or less fully transitioned to using this instead of the paper, and it's working out great. So moving to the future instead of relying on hard paper. So that's always great. And finally, I will say happy Father's Day to all the fathers that are out there, because that's this weekend. All right. Staff reports. I'll start with Brendan Cain, Parks and Rec Director.

We had our St. Louis Cardinals clinic was out at BMAC yesterday for the kids. We had over 100 players in attendance, and they got to hang out with Michael McGreevey and Jordan Walker for a little while. So it was another cool event to have them back for a second year in a row. Hopefully they'll be back again next year for Independence Day. Monday was the deadline for parade entries. We ended up with 80, which is maxed out. It's the most we've had in a little while. The parade lineup draft, first draft was completed today. So we'll be putting the finishing touches on that and get that out to everybody as soon as we can. And I think like it was mentioned, July 23rd, next week, six o'clock is our next volunteer meeting. Could still use a few extra people to help out on the day of. That's all I have.

On the dais, you'll see May's code summary report. That's up at 10 pages. These 10 pages are only for the new stuff that we wrote May 1st through the 31st. It's a lot larger than it's been in the past, basically because of all the tall grass we have, and it's all tracked in this report. Other thing I have was the airport, believe it or not, cut the grass today at the old city hall property. The plan is to cut it again in two weeks. If you remember last year, it was tall enough you could probably bale hay with it. So this year they cut it right now, today, and then we'll cut it in two weeks. That way it looks a lot better. We don't have those windrows of all the grass clipping. So they're pretty much on top of it this time. Last thing I have is just as a reminder the new council we do make ward signs for your meetings Matt will make them and usually packs of five He also has a little bit sturdier wire Holders for your signs because you'll be reusing those we don't store them for you We'll give them to you and you keep them yourselves and those wire like holders are a little bit nicer than you typically would buy just for your election signs Why because you need to reuse those time and time again, so that's all I have Penny any questions?

Thank you. All right, mayor's report. First, a couple tragedies that happened this past week. Please keep in your prayers and thoughts those individuals and family members of the individuals that were killed in the B-52 crash out in California, and also the 12 individuals killed in the skydiving plane crash in Butler, Missouri. Allison Garrison, manager of the marketing communications and business development at Leonardo, has set up a 10 a.m. tour for council on Wednesday, July 29th. More information will follow. Don't forget proof of citizenship, what their security desk is required upon entry, and that is either a birth certificate or a passport. I still have openings on boards and commissions. Historical, there's four openings. IDA, there's three. Park board is one, personnel is one, senior citizens coordinating commission is one, and streets is two. Mr. Gunn, did you get out the survey to council members on the streets?

No, not yet. It's on our list to do this week. OK. It's going to be a pretty large file. So if you received it by Friday, let me know. It might have got rejected back. It's got all the pictures and stuff on it.

Okay, thank you. The transfer of all the defined benefit plan pension funds from U.S. Bank to RBC has taken place. As you can see, we got a couple of T-shirts displayed, 4th of July T-shirts. Again, those are $12 for youth sizes. Small through extra large adult sizes are $15, and 2X, 3X, and 4X are $18. Mr. Bookout and myself have been looking at the recommendations that were previously made by the Charter Review and Revision Commission for charter amendments, and we will be proposing to council members placing one or two additional ones on the April 2027 ballot. For sure there will be one and that will be regarding the boards and commissions, taking them out of the charter and establishing by code. That's all I have unless anybody's got any questions of me.
