Um the city council chambers will undergo a complete overhaul which means we will be displaced for the first four to six months of the year. So there is ongoing discussion about where those meetings will be held um what time they will be held. So I I I do have an alternative calendar that you you may have. Um, we will confirm this in December, but I at least wanted to put you on notice that our meeting day and location will definitely change. So, we will have more information um in December. Any questions about that?
Just one request. If they move the air conditioning out, uh, I do have one question. Yes, sir. Um, when is Okay, so the July meeting is July 13, so well away. Okay. Yes, that was it. And people have in August, they have Friday, July the 3 to get stuff in. Is the city even going to be open that day in August? Do they need to be? Actually, I haven't seen the I haven't seen the calendar, but I anticipate they'll be open. They might be. I don't Do they send most of the stuff online anyway? So, they if y'all were closed, is that still okay? That's not going to cause a problem.
Well, we would need to amend it. So, we'll have that calendar before December. So, we'll update that one specifically.
Good. Thank you for pointing that out. All right. Any other questions on relocation? If not, I will move on to the next old and new business item, selection of the preferred consultant announcement for the comprehensive plan and UDC update. I have a pretty long speech here. Um to today marks an important milestone for the Boer City Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission as we officially announce the selection of the consultant team that will help guide us through one of the most significant planning efforts, the update of the comprehensive plan and unified development code. This initiative represents more than just an update to policies and ordinances. It's a forward-looking vision, a roadmap that will guide how Boer grows, builds, thrives for the next 10 to 20 years. Our goal is to ensure that development within our city and parish continues to reflect the values, needs, and aspirations of the city and the people who call who call Boer home. Over the past several months, we've gone through a competitive and thoughtful selection process, evaluating teams from across the region. Each consultant was ranked based on experience, community involvement, qualifications, quality of submitt, interview performance, cost, timeline control, and compliance. We saw partners with innovation, proven expertise, and a deep understanding of communities like ours placing places experiencing growth, opportunity, and change all at once. After Keler Review, we are proud to announce the selection of Maddie if you would. half as our leading planning consultant. Their expertise in comprehensive planning, zoning modernization, community engagement, and implementation
strategies will be invaluable as we move forward. The update will address many critical issues from housing and transportation connectivity, coste effective long-term infrastructure plans to economic development, vision and growth plans, and land use and zoning. Most importantly, it will reflect the voices of our citizens. This plan will not be written in a boardroom. It will be shaped in our neighborhoods through community workshops, open houses, and digital engagement opportunities that allow everyone to participate. As we embark on this journey, we remain committed to transparency and collaboration. Our community deserves a plan not only that looks great on paper but delivers real results ensuring Boer remains as vibrant, resilient, and connected place to live, work, and invest. I'd like to thank our committee members, the elected officials, and our community partners for their support and leadership in moving this project forward. I'd also like to thank our staff for their hard work in managing this process and preparing for the exciting work ahead. Together, we are setting the stage for Bozer's next chapter. one that honors our history, embraces innovation, and plans boldly for our future. I would like to thank those that came from half um to meet with us last month and we look forward to working with you, Mark White, Melissa Budri, Natalie Vley, Jordan Maddox, Brandon Iay, and Mark Pner. Good. Yep.
I just want to add too, I was part of that selection committee and all three candidates that we interviewed were extremely wellqualified. I did like half being kind of a local presence here as well, which so they kind of knew the area very well. So, I thought that was a big plus.
Yes. Um, them being local, uh, them being team players and their history, uh, weighed heavily on how we move forward. This will be a 24-month process and it's going to be timeconuming but it's exciting um with you know how we intend to grow and I think this will be a good team to work with going forward. If anyone wants a copy of their plan um I do have a copy of their RFP that they submitted to us. The goal now is to move forward with the contract and have that executed by December 15th. we will have some additional committees like an advisory or a technical committee that I'll probably be reaching out to you um to sit on. So, be looking out for that as well. Um in addition to um older new business, I would ask that you guys follow us on social media um on our Tik Tok and our Facebook pages as we are, you know, setting a platform for ourselves there.
All right. Thank you, Carla. That's all I have. All right. Anybody have anything else? Okay. Not I'll adjourn. Thank you. Thank you. May have said 18 minutes.
