A resolution of the city of Bill, Missouri supporting participation in Missouri blue shield grant program. Whereas the state of Missouri has established the Missouri Blue Shield program to offer grant funding to law enforcement agencies to enhance public safety initiatives for local communities. And whereas in order to be eligible for grant funding, law enforcement agencies must demonstrate a commitment to public safety, which includes a resolution from their governing body affirming support for public safety. And whereas the Boonville Police Department requests that the council formally adopt a resolution affirming its support for public safety and its intent to reduce violent crime in the city. Therefore, be it resolved by the city council of the city of Booneville, Missouri as follows. Section one, the city of Boomville affirms the support for public safety expressing its intent to reduce violent crime within the city. Section two, the city of Boomville desires to participate in the Blue Shield program to support crime prevention activities. Section three that the chief of police, assistant chief, city administrator, and any other staff are hereby authorized to prepare and submit documents which are necessary for applying for the funding the blue shield program passed the second day of March 2026 by the city council of Missouri.
