And I am here. So all five are present. We have a quorum and welcome. This is the Wednesday, April 29th, 2026 meeting of the Babylon town Board. For those of you here for your first time, the meeting is divided up into three sections. The first is dedicated to the public hearings. There are two public hearings scheduled for today. So, if you're interested in addressing the board on either of those public hearings, we ask that you fill out a card up front and file with our town clerk. Second portion is dedicated to the agenda and there are agendas on the table up front. So, if you're interested in addressing the board on any of the items listed on the agenda for today, uh again, we ask that you fill out a card file with our town clerk. And the third portion is the open portion when residents can come forward and address the board on any matter concerning town government or town services. That is not on today's agenda. If you're watching us on our YouTube channel live on April 29th at 3 PM, there's a link that'll take you to today's agenda. You can send us a message, question, comment, or concern. One of us will get back to you. If you're watching us at a future day and time, that link is still live. You could utilize that and um we will get back to you. So, with that, we'll go into the public hearings. First public hearings. Public hearing reference to amending chapter 2, article 4, section 2-8 of the town of Babel Uniform Code of Traffic Ordinances. Don't have any cards. you might be familiar with my father Irvvin like I'm sure some of you I was going to ask you that. Yes. Yeah. I'm his son. Yeah. I just had a saved Fire Island. Fire Island and stuff with Shorum. Some people disagree about that with him, but anyway. With Fire Island. Yes. Good.

3:44 – 4:32Speaker 1

Uh yeah. You know, I go through Babylon Village a lot and right around the high school and you know, the railroad station, there is no light there. It is very, very dangerous. And I spoke to the mayor. I emailed her and some of the other people and and I even went to the high school cuz once the crossing guards are gone, that place, you know, you got Carl Avenue, Trolley Line Road, Railroad. I almost got in an accident a couple of times and I I don't and this has been like this for years. I remember my father took me to school years ago and he said, "Why is there no light here?" So I just feel that there should be a light in the village in that spot because if you go down the street on Park Avenue has a light

4:30 – 5:15Speaker 1

from and then of course going to Main Street. So I don't know why there's no light there because there's a lot of traffic around there with railroad station and Yeah, we'll check with the mayor on that. You know, I did. And she she's gave me some kind of an excuse like people will run through the light. I I didn't get that. Not why would they run through a traffic light, you know? Well, you have to obey the traffic light. But yeah. Yeah. But I'll uh we'll we'll check with her. Yeah. I was just wondering if you could some maybe convince her because she she did speak to me a little bit and uh she they she didn't seem to be open to it, you know, but the high school when I spoke there, you know, people applauded and said, "Yeah, I think it's a good idea." So, okay, that's all that's all I really have to say.

5:14 – 5:27Speaker 1

All right. Thank you, Steve. I see. You too. Is there any one else who wishes to address the board? Seeing none, take a motion to adjourn from Councilman Neta, second by Councilman Martinez. All those in favor? oppose.
