Town Council - Regular Meeting

board members missing. Council members, we good? We have two council members missing, Mr. Calhoun and Mr. Murray Dixon. So, let's stand and say the pledge. Our heavenly father, we give you thanks for giving us another day. Father, we're so appreciative of all the blessings that you've given this town, the people in it. But Father, tonight we'd like pray that the surgery was successful, that his recovery would be quick and little pain. Father, we also ask blessings of the meeting tonight. We pray all in Christ. Really say a little bit, but um I got a couple estimates that sort of came in for the wells very concerned about the gave me new and we got a problem with our back station came out looked at last week but they replaced the fuse. I knew the fuse was problem again right away. Yeah. And they're coming back out tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Are we discharging now or are we discharging currently? No back. No. Okay. Okay. How often do we do that? Once a month. We are discharging from the lagoons. Yeah, that's what I was asking. We are. Well, Luke's not here. I don't have a report from him. Um, Jennifer's not here. Code enforcement and the attorneys. Um, the only other one I have is the police report. You want to add anything to that? I do not. Okay. We had uh 123 calls, 104 patrols, three stops, and 12 other calls. So,

uh depends on the situation. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't.

All righty. No attorney tonight. So, we'll move on to old business. In the packet, there is one uh quote for the library. Um, Fred and I met with this gentleman, Brady Dascus, and he has quoted $52,210 to remodel the inside of the library and to frame the elevator shaft and dig out a footer. So, we will take that up at the next meeting. Um, Murray wants us to do set a time for an executive session for employment. Um, anybody have any suggestions or times when they can't meet?

Got a lot of times that it can't meet. We'll have to see when we can. Um, I know Jennifer's out this whole week and she has to advertise it. So, um, she get back Friday, yes, she'll be back in the office Friday. Yeah, she gets back Thursday. Well, let's shoot for since we have a council meeting on the 23rd, could we just shoot for five o'clock on the 23rd? Yes. Is that good with you, Fred? Yeah, it works for me. Anybody want to I think it limits the number of Oh, prevents dogs or cats running at large. It's it's the dog ordinance with cats included now.

Correct. So So we will table that until the next meeting. There also is a um resume for the water position that we were given in the packet. Um I have not looked at that yet. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. South of town. South of town. Chicken. What is happening? That's a very big nice chicken coop. That is a very nice chicken coupe. And I talked to Rick Rick Rick u the other day and I asked him about it because I thought they're doing a lot of constructing for a chicken coupe out there. Um he said he went back three four weeks ago to talk to him about it. Um they do have all the permits they need from him. They're building now they're building a pole barn behind that building to house I don't know whether it's farm equipment or what.

Got the permit from him. Yeah, they got everything from him cuz I questioned the same thing driving by there. I was like, "That is a really nice chicken coupe." But but he he assures me it's a chicken coupe. Um and cuz they have I don't know if you've seen the the part that faces south is or east has a whole lot of windows in it, which you would do for a chicken coupe. So I don't know, but that's what Rick tells me. So but I did. The road didn't have that many windows. Yeah. I I don't know. But they're going to be putting up a pole barn right behind there. And I saw them. They very nice.

Yeah, they do. I I I don't know. My wife asked me, "What are they going to do with all the chickens?" And I don't know. So maybe that's going to be a processing plan. I don't I don't have a clue. Um anybody else have any questions? Yes. Uh, I would have to ask Luke, but as long as they're currently tagged, I don't think there you can have as many as you cars as you want as long as they're up to date with their registration. Um, if they're not registered, then that's a problem. Fred, do you have any? I think that's correct. Yeah, I haven't read the ordinance, but I think I

think sometimes neighborhood just they had to prove to him that they were so they proved that they were movable. So I I believe it's okay. But yeah, I would have to ask Luke because I I don't know exactly what he's looking for in there, but I would assume as long as they are the registration is up to date that that's okay.

Yeah. Is anybody check? I I believe Luke does check that. I mean, he he came and told me about one last year when I forgot to renew mine. So, no, that was Murray a long time ago.
