Finance Committee - Regular Meeting

Okay. I'd like to call this special meeting of the Finance Committee for Wednesday, 05/20/2026 at 06:37PM to order. Please rise and join me for the Pledge of Allegiance.

All right. Anybody who was watching out there, we had a little issue with the doors, so we're getting a little bit of a late start. Roll call of membership. Let the record show that all members are present in spite of the doors. All right, we don't have any minutes from a previous meeting to approve. We do not have any public hearings or appearances, so we will go directly into our single action item, 20 six-six 72, Request to approve extension of Fox City's Exhibition Center Memorandum of Understanding between the city and Driftwood Hospital. Second. All right, we have a motion and a second. I see Alder Van Zeeland.

Thank you, Chair. Do we have an idea, like, we hope this will be the last extension, or if you can just give me an idea of where we are in the process.

the city's hope that this is the last extension. We have shipped the terms of the agreement to the Hilton. The editing is occurring on their end. We do intend, when we get it back, that we'll work through it as quickly as we can. We purposely picked thirty days, knowing that it's important not to keep having this any longer than it needs to be. Okay.

I appreciate all the work that's going into this. My concern is starting to be about extending and what that maybe means for other contracts that we'll have in the future about our deadlines. So I would just hope that hopefully this is the last time this comes in front of us before we have everything finalized.
