Consider Elimination of the Site Development Review permit requirement for Equestrian Uses (Boarding stables and riding academies 17.06.030 (J) and 17.06.090)

Staff recommends that the Planning Commission hear a presentation by staff, discuss the elimination of the Site Development Review permit for Horse Boarding Facilities and Riding Academies, take public testimony, and provide direction and comments to Planning Staff on revising the Zoning Ordinance and County Policy for Equine Facilities. Public review will follow at the Agricultural Advisory Committee, the Transportation and Planning Subcommittee of the Board of Supervisors and it is anticipated the ordinance will return to the Planning Commission for at least one additional round of review and a formal recommendation to the Board of Supervisors

The Planning Commission will adjourn this meeting in memory of Chair Marc Crawford, honoring his dedicated service and contributions to Alameda County. The Vice-Chair, serving as the presiding officer, will first observe a moment of silence, followed by an opportunity for Commissioners to offer brief remarks and memories prior to adjournment.
