“So also, I mean, we keep talking about housing shortage and trying to create more affordable housing. And I totally get your point, Councilman Cooper, on what we need to do moving forward, but on an existing facility, right, we can require them to do all kinds of changes, but then it's not quite as affordable housing either. I mean, to me, that's where kind of the balance thing is, a non-existing thing to ask them to go in and start ripping up parking lots and trying to figure out how to completely redo that. and they could do it, it's just gonna add a ton of cost to the thing.”

“All right, we'll go into, go ahead, Tom. If you don't mind, I'd just like to talk real quickly. Chief Basie, first, thank you so much, you and your staff, for listening to some of these concerns and trying to work through those. I think y'all have done a great job on that, and I really appreciate it. And I mean, we've heard a lot of concerns, and I fully have agreed with a lot of those concerns, but I think for the most part, I mean, it's going to be continual work, but for the most part, a lot of it's been addressed. And then I just wanted to share my story that I have multiple times. I'm…”

“I just need to make a quick point. I just want to make a quick point. Chief Basie, I'm sorry that you're having to stand up here this whole time while we talk. But I want to give you an update on cell phones. I worked in the cell phone industry for a long time. And it was when location-based services were starting to become brand new. And you can turn off your location data to different things. your location data is always there. Always there, always available, unless you break your phone in half. Other than that, it's always location-based and completely recorded. So just giving you a heads…”

Personally, I would like to go ahead and move for its approval so that we can get this accomplished. up or down, we'll get it accomplished is what I mean by getting it accomplished. But anyway, thank you all again so much for sharing your input. It's a tough decision, but as you know, mine's kind of from an experience thing, so I'll move for its approval.”

“You know, last Friday I was able to attend the M.T. Berry funeral, which is very sad, but it was really just a fantastic celebration of his life and, you know, not just his life, but all the different things that he brought to this city, that he brought to his community, to his family, and to different friends. And I would just like to thank everyone that was able to speak at that. They did a fantastic job and it turned out to be a really nice event. I served with him on some committees and I always appreciated him very drastically in how he worked. So, thank you.”
