“So, trying to play ball here. FOR THIS GO AROUND, IF WE WANT TO SEE THE SIX COMMITMENTS THAT I OUTLINED IN THERE, AND WE CAN FURTHER DISCUSS 4.6.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  2. Play at 1:33:34
“I'm trying to get to the words that Ryan was suggesting that for me to use to get it back at 4.6 for consideration again.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  3. Play at 1:36:24
“So I guess my the. So first of all, I withdraw.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  4. Play at 1:36:42
“So I'm making a motion for a reconsideration of the vote at the 4.6 millage rate with the six conditions applied.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  5. Play at 2:06:53
“I'd like to make a motion that we set a workshop for the budget.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  6. Play at 2:42:12
“Yeah. So, right, so we need a resolution to do this, and then the resolution would have to carry an effectivity date, which would be January 1. Is that of 27? We have to have this adopted on January 1 or sooner.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  7. Play at 2:42:36
“All right. So I'm going down this. So the residential inspection, the $100 inspection, that's an in-person inspection then there? Yes, sir. Because you have inspection virtual when applicable below, which is the $25 fee.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  8. Play at 2:43:40
“SO THE VIRTUAL INSPECTION THEN IS A $25 FEE WITH YOUR CRITERIA ESTABLISHED AND WHATEVER. SO THAT'S RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL?”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  9. Play at 2:44:00
“BECAUSE YOU HAVE A COMMERCIAL INSPECTION HERE, WHICH IS $25 MORE THAN THE RESIDENTIAL. I'm assuming that's an in-person? That is in-person. In-person, so there's not a virtual option for commercial?”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  10. Play at 2:44:41
“No, I get that. That's good, yes. I'm just trying to make sure I understand the distinction between them and how the virtual applies or doesn't apply.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  11. Play at 2:45:56
“SO AT THE BEGINNING YOU INTRODUCED THIS AND YOU SAID YOU LOOKED AT WHAT'S GOING ON IN DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES OR OTHER AREAS THAT YOU SERVICE AS WELL AS US. SO I'VE ALWAYS KIND OF THOUGHT there's really gonna have to be a kind of a similar solution that you would apply across different municipalities but their costs may be different in terms of how long it takes to process. But it's basically the same idea. So is that what this is? This is kind of, I mean if you look at Indian Atlantic or Indian Harbor or Malabar, the actual number might be different but it's kind of the same basis.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  12. Play at 2:47:41
“SO COUNTY FALLS UNDER THE SAME LEGISLATURE AS WELL, RIGHT? IT DOES. AND YOU LOOKED AT HOW THEY'RE DOING THAT?”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  13. Play at 2:48:03
“Yeah, I'm just, you know, you go a block or two either way and you're either in county or a different municipality and contractor's coming back YOU KNOW, COMPARING PRICES, SO THAT'S KIND OF WHAT I WAS POKING AT.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  14. Play at 2:53:49
“Me too. Thank you. So that would be retroactive or people that are currently are grandfathered in and you're just talking about new applications?”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  15. Play at 2:58:51
“Yeah, I'd like to ask that the building department and town attorney return to us with a resolution that encompasses this no later than the November regular commission meeting.”

    Town Commission · Sep 3, 2026

  16. Play at 24:51
“They also put out data that's more specific to this region that's different than that. And the numbers are lower than what you cited. So it's more specific to the region we live in here.”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  17. Play at 25:10
“I've provided the information to her previously. And then the other part of that is that if you don't really, I don't think, my position is you don't really just look at what the last month's number was. You're talking about the cost of living over the course of the year. It's really kind of like the median or the average of what those would be over the year. So I agree, which I believe is to be is around the last time I looked was about. 2.7%. So and then if you wanted to add on top of that, I think 1% is is reasonable. We're also, if you're looking, you have a chart here comparing us…”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  18. Play at 26:12
“Yeah, so I'll just talk about it. That's what I'm talking. Yeah, if you look at the beachside communities, you're proposing the highest increase. And the average for Beachside is like three and a quarter percent.”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  19. Play at 57:12
“Well, first off, you're speaking as if you know how one is voting, that you have a tabulation of what you think the vote is already, which I find surprising.”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  20. Play at 57:31
“I'm not talking about the mayor. I'm saying he... He said it about you, not him.”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  21. Play at 57:46
“I'm not denying that. I heard her say that, too.”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  22. Play at 57:51
“But you were speaking in terms of that you knew how the rest of the commission was going to vote. I have no idea. But I know that we only need three. The way you were speaking was that you did. We only need three votes.”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  23. Play at 58:05
“I know what the vote requirement is for the rollback. I understand what that is. So how do you feel? How do you feel?”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  24. Play at 58:25
“I'VE VOICED MY THINGS THAT I'M NOT IN FAVOR OF IN THE BUDGET. IF YOU, LET'S TALK ABOUT ROLLBACK FOR A SECOND. SO WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT FOR ROLLBACK IS THIS IS WHAT AFFECTS THE ADVALORUM REVENUE. AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 4.6 AND GOING BACK TO THE ROLLBACK RATE IS A TOTAL OF $140 SOME DOLLARS, I THINK, IN ADVALORUM TAX. SO I KIND OF BELIEVE THAT, YOU KNOW, We could make up that $140,000. So if we make up that $140,000 in revenue, then we could essentially do the same budget that's presented at 4.6 at the rollback rate, correct? Are you following me?”

    Town Commission · Aug 26, 2026

  25. Play at 59:27
“So the rollback rate only that we're talking about only the ad valorem revenue that we get. So at 4.6 rate, you get a certain amount at rollback rate, you get a lesser amount through the tax. Well, that difference is about 140 some thousand dollars. All right. So if we were able to somehow, get that $140,000 of revenue, if we were able to generate that. We could essentially have the same budget, the same 4.6 budget, but only have the tax people at the rollback rate.”
