“Thank you, Mayor. I remember reading about this hanging umbrella in the alleys. I think it started in Portugal in the early 2000s, and then it took off from there.”

“Yeah. Well, again, that's all I remember from that piece of it. Yeah, from my update, there were social engagements. I've been there. You've seen me there. The one thing I want to point out is on the STA meeting that I attended, So as all of you are aware, the Grant Line Road is a dangerous road. And a few years earlier, we'd received, the Rancho Cordova segment of the connector had received 25 million as part of the TCEP award. And last week, we were hoping to get prioritized by the STA board to get another $25 million. And we got approved.”

“The fun part is, or the part is, you know, every time when we approve this amount, grand dollars, grant dollars, it's just something that we approved. But this time I knew that when we were approving this $25 million, we were literally going to save lives. So six people sitting on a podium, we were out there saving lives. So that's what we do. Thank you.”

“So there's a lot of talk about having a data center. Recording in progress. And our residents are usually opposed to it. And I flip back and forth between having one from a perspective of revenue to the city and no from being a resident. But there seems to be a lot of pros and cons. And I've seen some cities use it for the benefit of the city. So I would like to bring... that topic with staff actually doing the due diligence. Maybe some of us visiting these data centers to see how it benefits our cities and what do the residents think of it and have this decision ready for us to go. So…”

“I want to add, so, I mean, all companies, including the one where we are, we're pushing the need for more AI in terms of for optimization on all our software tools, and all of that requires data centers. So it has to come up somewhere, or we stop trying to, you know, use all those filters and look beautiful on Zoom. But so...”

“Okay, I'll go over my highlights as well. Attended the elected officials' reception hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. That was a very well-attended event at a really good location, the Maither Jet Center. So this was the Labor Day weekend. I did receive a lot of complaints and even posts on social media regarding kids and their use of e-bikes. More so on the e-bikes in our peer cities, but in our city I heard a lot about kids going about doing Ding Dong Ditch. Apparently it's a TikTok trend that's going about. But I wanted to make sure that Rancho Cordova gets ahead of the e-bike issue…”

“Well, really good comments by my colleagues, and I agree with all of them. My vote, though, if I had to pick one, was on Folsom Boulevard, because from the day I started on this council, we've always been looking at how to revitalize Folsom Boulevard. What do we do to make our face, our entry to the city better? What can we do to make sure that when the Uber drivers come, when everybody goes to the city, that statement remains that this is a great place to be, but the roads are also really great. So, you know, especially with the Mayter Airshow, people come in. We have 65 businesses that will…”

“Thank you, Mayor. This is Siri Pulipati, Council Member. So I attended National Night Out and I agree with Council Member Sander. It was a pretty hot night. In fact, we did have the discussion at one of those neighborhoods in front of the homes that actually had a really big tree and it was cool out there, but we couldn't step out of that tree, so all of us were huddled under that shade of that one tree. We should also maybe follow suit like our State Fair and move it to a month where it's cooler and more neighbors would come out. But we had more neighbors do it in different places and some…”

So it looks like we're having council meetings, and that's not stopping. You guys maybe took a pause while I was away, so it's back in full swing. I was telling Micah I bought this upon myself, coming here in 110-degree weather.”

“So yeah, I've been back, got over my jet lag. So two council meetings and I attended an event over the weekend called Meraki 2026. This was by a young woman who started this program to empower other young ladies and women in leadership. So I got to talk about my journey and to encourage more young ladies to step into public office and in the field of STEM. So that was a good event.”
