“Jason, real quick, what is the necessity again for the shutdowns?”
“Okay. Councilor McLemore. Thank you for this education from both of you guys. So there's a pipeline that leads to Brown's Pond. There's no other pipeline anywhere else, it's just Brown Pond.”
“Thank you. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone, and especially you and the committee, to all the hard work that you guys are putting into this. This is something that's important. So I'm definitely glad to see this moving forward. And hopefully next year, I hope next year we will start moving and moving and moving and moving.”
“I just wanted to know, did the applications already go in or is that something that we, what's the process for the applications to go in?”
“I mean, everyone already said everything, but I was going to say the same thing as far as don't be discouraged, Ruben. I know it's hard hearing this and listening to everything that's going on and being a first-time homeowner or trying to attempt to be a first-time homeowner. You don't want to be despondent as far as a loss of hope as far as putting in offers on a different property or so. because we don't know how this is going to shake out as well. So don't be discouraged as far as what you hear on tonight. It's just the fact that there is a continued narrative within our community where it…”
“Councillor McLemore. I just have one quick question, Ali, because you brought up a good point. They receive a confirmation that they didn't get the property.”
“So with the four extra cameras, where are they gonna be installed?”
“I wasn't done, but sorry. Why in the rec coordinator's office? Because I know you said the Vestibule, Hall of Fame. I missed one of them. You said four. The rec coordinator's office and then what's the other one?”
“Yeah, I understand. It's just I know people are reluctant to be surveilled, so to speak, certain things that are going on in this world. So, you know, I understand with the four cameras and we also have cameras on the outside. Correct.”
“Okay. I just don't know how that's going to, because I'm pretty sure we're all getting phone calls or text and stuff like that with people.”
“No, they didn't call you. I'm talking about the council as far as with these added cameras. So that's just something that I want to look into a little bit more. That's all.”
“Me personally. I agree. The vestibule, the Hall of Fame, the entrances and exits, I agree with. Offices, I do not agree with. There's no camera in my office, my chief's office, or anything like that. It's in the common areas, but it's not in the office. And I just don't agree with putting anything in people's offices. Council Member Stewart.”
“Councilor McElmore. So I know you said we're not using the policy AI, which I definitely agree to. I concur with that, especially when it comes to Brady and Giglio. So I want to make sure we stay away from things like that. So I wanted to say good features, and I'm in support of this. Council Member Monteverde.”
“I just wanted clarification as far as how many vacant positions that you need. Right now I have two.”
“And what would make, I mean, it's a wish list, but what would make it easier for you guys? How many would, that you would need that would make it easier for you guys?”
“So we're not comparable to... We're not comparable, no.”
“So what would be the increase that you...”
“Okay, thank you. councilmember mclemore yes i agree with my colleagues um as far as um uh with the street sweeper program so i'm not gonna dwell on that um too much um i wanted to know about Again, I know you said it, but I wanted to make sure I heard it clearly. The difference between the sanitation supervisor and the laborer supervisor, even though that may be, that's two different job descriptions, I believe, right? So why is it, it's almost like a 15,000 or more difference. And I'm just trying to check on that to see why is there a difference between Also, the working supervisor is…”
“It's the same as, I believe, when we did the tax, the assessors, and their salary, the one lady's salary, was extremely low. And she's been here for like 30 years or so. Oh, the cashier. The cashier. The cashier department. and and it's the same here i i just don't understand if you've been here for over um 19 years and you're only making 67 and everybody else is is climbing up and i i get what you're saying i i know you don't have the answer but i just want to and you don't have to say anything else If I could shed some light on that.”
“Yes. So, I mean, it's contractual. Okay. How much... How much are you proposing in the budget for street paving and road reconstruction?”
“I know the ask and what you reduce, the ask are always going to be more than what, you know what I mean? That's natural.”
“You got a long way for that. I know you said the vehicles are near the end of his lives, you know, at the end, somewhere around there. But...”
“Did you say the vehicles or you said the HVAC units?”
“We got to get that corrected. Is any of the vehicles out of service or need repairs? All the vehicles up?”
“Okay. I'm gonna pass it on I got a thousand more questions, but I'm gonna pass it on Councilmember Monteverde.”
