And the items that have been pulled out just for clarity in the motion are 23, 36, 45, 47, 48. Any further discussion on the remaining consent items? There has been a motion made and seconded to approve the consent items other than those listed 23, 36, 45, 47, 48. All in favor, raise your hand. Any opposed? All right, they pass. I believe we are now ready for the action preview and I will turn that over to our manager.
Thank you, Chief Patterson. I know we have three council members who have asked for, and I'll start five. I'll start with Council Member Ajmera.
Just for planning purposes, I'm going to come to Councilmember Mayfield next. I am going to move the other two items, at least one, probably both of the other two items, that are on the action preview here to the manager's report so that we have time for the, we have another matter that we need to discuss and I want to start that at least by six o'clock. So if it's possible in our comments, we have 15 minutes before six o'clock. If it's possible in our comments to avoid redundancy of questions, if that's possible, I just ask that council members please do that. Thank you for those questions…
Thank you, Council Member Mayo. Council Member Driggs.
Thank you, Council Member Driggs. I think next is Council Member Graham.
Thank you, Council Member Graham. Council Member Johnson.
Thank you, Council Member Masuera Arias. Council Member Anderson, I think you have the last question.
everyone to make one comment or ask have one set of comments or ask questions. And so I want to hold it there because I know this is going to come back to us in some form. But I don't, I want to make sure that we're even handed and how we have the round of questions. Great discussion. Important issue is council member Johnson has said chief Patterson, thank you very much. Are there any final comments that you'd like to make?
Thank you very much. All right, I think we're going to flex a little bit and skip down to the parking and sidewalk ordinance revision. Manager, if that's okay with you. And we will hold the other item until your report during the session downstairs.
If folks could please we' ve got limited time please be as quiet as you can exiting and moving around and if council would give attention to the manager.
Questions? Council Member Johnson? Council Member Mayfield?
Thank you. Council member Mayfield, council member Johnson.
Okay, we're going to transition to the council chambers. I know we have at least one more question. Council Member Ashmera.
Are there, are there, are there any other questions from council on this point or comments? Anything else, manager? Thank you very much. We are going to transition to council chambers. We will take up the model cities initiative grant just so folks, particularly online, will know during the manager's report there. And we'll also take up the items that were deferred from what was the consent agenda that were pulled out during that session.
Good evening and thank you for joining us in this in-person and those watching online for our August 10th business meeting, Charlotte City Council. Now let's begin with introductions around the dais, starting with the city clerk.
Good evening, Rob Harrington, Mayor. Good evening, everyone. James Mitchell, Mayor Pro Tem.
Thank you all. We begin our meeting with an invocation, expression of inspiration, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation is intended to solemnize our proceedings. We celebrate the religious diversity of our community, including those without a religious faith. Tonight, Councilmember Owens will give our invocation. Councilmember Owens.
Thank you, Councilmember Owens. Let's stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
We have one proclamation for this evening and I'll turn it over for that to council member Graham.
Thank you, Councilmember Graham, and thanks to all who were recognized for all you do in our community and the really important work that you do. As we transition into the remainder of the meeting, I'd like to just give a little bit of background. I'd like to thank all of you for attending. On behalf of the city council, I'd like to thank all of you. I ask that audience members be civil and courteous while in the chamber. We want to ensure that everyone has a positive experience while attending tonight's meeting. And that takes us now to open public comment on amendments to the Charlotte City…
Before we get there, I think we probably should take a vote on the motion to close the public comment and then move into questions from council. So let's go ahead and take a vote on the pending motion to close public comment. Any opposed? All right. So public comment is now closed. Council Member Johnson, please proceed with the questions.
Any other comments? Anyone else who has a council member as mayor first? Come back to you, Council Member Johnson.
Thank you, Council Member Esmira. I'm going to come back to Council Member Johnson, but are there any other questions or comments from Council at this point? Council Member Johnson.
Thank you. I see Council Member Ajmera has another question. Are there any other questions from those who have not spoken to the motion? Let's go Council Member Watlington and then Council Member Richmond.
Yes. Are there any further questions, any further discussion from Council on Item 7, the motion with regard to streets map and streets manual?
