“Thank you. Okay, so... If we were to wait to address the issues that you brought forward this evening, what would happen to us financially and as a city itself and how we run?”

“Yes. Still processing it, but let me see. So I understand, or the public, where the math isn't mathing, right? Or just where are the numbers? And it just seems like the numbers continue to fluctuate. Let me see, how should I word this? My only assumption is that because we have years of unreported audits, right, where we didn't do audits, the city did not do audits, we are not guaranteed to know exactly what those numbers are, correct? Like, we just know what you know right now based on the work that you and your team have been doing.”

“Yeah, so... Because a lot of people are saying, you know, how can we show numbers, right? Like everybody wants proof. However, does the audits have something to do with the lack of yearly reporting of the audits?”

“Thank you. Yeah. Just one question. Uh, so what techniques or is there any training on how to handle, um, animals that are in distress? I've been to the shelter and yes, it's clean. It's pleasant. Um, however it feel, I would imagine it feels like jail, like, so, um, um, What do you and I would imagine and I've heard that, you know, there are animals there that are in distress and that stresses me out because it just it breaks my heart because they literally have no idea what's going on. So who's there? How do you guys provide that care that compassionate care for the animals when they are in…”

“Yeah, thank you. I just want to be clear. It's no longer an animal ad hoc committee. So I just want to be clear that expired. So, so we open it up, you know, to community members and everybody to join us for town halls. So, which was our last one was pretty impactful. So, I'm going to speak on a broader sense because this is such an emotional topic, especially when it comes to animals. That's where people's emotions go into overdrive, right? We're passionate. We love them. They're pure love. And there's just something being around them, right? That brings us that comfort. And to have that…”

“Yeah, I think you may. Yes, I think that's that's terrific. Yeah, one thing that stood out to me was when you see what you see. OK, what we do in one area or street will impact the other. And how would we approach that? That's kind of what's in my mind right now. So that's essentially the only feedback that I have. But I am in agreement with with our mayor on how we want to approach this.”

“Yeah, sure, thank you. I had a staff member from the San Benito County Public Health, and he just wants to come over and educate the community and the council regarding sharing current information and emerging tobacco trends. so that we're aware of it. And these tobacco companies appear to be getting more clever with their products, which makes them more appealing to our youth, which is obviously not a good thing. So he just wants to come and just see how, to educate us on how this is directly impacting our youth here in Hollister and our county.”
