“Thank you, Mr. Chair. I also had the privilege of attending the Heels of Hope Tea for Breast Cancer Awareness that Councilwoman Myers put on. And thank you, Commissioner Newnick, for your compliment. But you all should see him in action because he was fantastic. He was phenomenal as our emcee and our host. I want to make this statement that with breast cancer awareness, that everyone should pay attention to this. Everyone has a mother, sister, aunt, a friend. make sure they know their numbers, make sure they get checked. And it's not just women.”

“Men also need to ensure that they are checking for breast cancer as well. AdventHealth did a phenomenal job of educating us and providing information and letting us know that they have advocates out there for us. I told Councilman Myers how great the program was and next year we should have the main room because it was such a good opportunity to not only learn, but to network with other women and listen to the stories. of the survivors and those who had to fight just to get the right tests that they needed so that they can cure their breast cancer or at least have it taken out. So that was…”

“Thank you, Mr. Chair. It's been some great discussions. Some of the same concerns I had. But when you made the statement about the secured gate that answered my question about in and out, I had concerns about removing the canopy trees. You said if you could replace as many as you can back and other trees, then I'm good with this.”

“Thank you, Mr. Chair. I can support this, particularly when you mentioned the greenways and improving the lakes, the enhanced crosswalk. Everything seems to show that it's going to align with everything else that's there. So I have no other questions, I have no questions or concerns. I think you're moving in the right direction.”

“Thank you, Mr. Chair. Just briefly, I am also a member of the Green Waste Committee, although I missed the bike rides. But the work that we're doing and the recommendations that will be brought back to the city, I think are going to be extremely important for safety for those who like to ride bikes and how to connect the city. So as my colleague said, you're welcome to attend those meetings. Thank you for mentioning the right to vote and how everyone should exercise your voice, whether you're doing it in person or mail in, your vote matters. Please, please, asking everyone to take the time to…”

“i think i don't have any any further questions thank you mr chair i don't know if it's a question or a comment um listening to the discussion from my fellow commissioners um i've had the same concern when i read this about parking the number of parking spaces my question to the owner is even though you've gotten the approval from the other businesses saying that they don't mind Is it possible, knowing that a salon business fluctuates, that she may have days where she has an overflow of customers, you may have a service going on where you have an overflow. We know how funerals go depending on…”

“Okay, I can go with that because I would hate to say that you would impede her business and then her livelihood is impacted, her customers are discouraged, and they decide, well, we're not coming back to you anymore because we always run into this problem. So as long as something like that could be worked out, then I can support you.”

“Thank you, Mr. Chair. All of my concerns really have been addressed. I don't have a problem with the words violate. I think we need to have something in there strong, so I'm good with that. I definitely agree with the transportation where we're talking about sufficient size length that would be specific. that were specific in those. I also agree with Commissioner May with the trees and the greenery. Definitely with the checklist, I was wondering about that. Is it something that we're going to maintain? Is it something that's going to be documented so that we will have a reference in case…”

“But I think it's a check and balance. Right. I think it's a check and balance. And I think it's important that we have a checklist to ensure that thing. I'm a process person. To make sure the process has been followed. Make sure everyone looked at everything that they're supposed to look at.”

“Can I ask one question? Go ahead. It just piqued my curiosity. You mentioned that if the animal, the pet has to stay overnight because of complications from surgery, that at some point they are left there alone. What if that animal goes into distress from the time that the last staff person goes home to the time that you open up at 7 o'clock in the morning? Does the owner have any type of way of visually seeing their pet to know if the pet is okay during the night? I mean, what happens if there's an emergency and no one's there and then you get there and there's some complications that no one…”

“Okay. So that explains that, I mean, I would think that a staff would not leave if an animal is in distress. But I'm saying anything could happen. Things could happen an hour later, two hours. Something happens to that animal during that time when there's no one there. That was my concern. Not that a staff would leave and a patient was not stable. But what happens when there's no one there and the animal may go into distress? How does the... that the staff, the owner knows that their pet is now in distress and there's no one at the facility.”

“Thank you. I would also like to commend staff for all the work that you put into this. I am a process person, a timeline person, so I appreciate it seeing that you have your process of how you're going to identify, you have your timeline of when things are going to be done, and I appreciate that. So congratulations for moving this forward because I know it's been a long time needed and coming.”
