  2. Thank you, Madam Chair. So I cannot let this lady walk out this door without me just saying thank you. You know, I appreciate the fact that you accept my phone calls, my text messages and my emails. based upon questions, but more importantly, is how you respond with care and with knowledge. And for that, I say thank you. You know, there were many long nights that we had during that first term around budget and around how we needed to get to where we wanted to go. And I know that you gave us your all as we did make some really difficult decisions. And I know it didn't just start with us in our…

  5. Commissioner clay bibs. Thank you, madam chair. I was trying to see where I was going to approach my questions regarding Oracle. Cause I did not vote for Oracle. had previous experiences with it not doing right by government previously. So not surprised that we are here. But my question is, will this solve all of our problems? And if so, give me the forecast of that. And if not, will you be back here again asking for more money to put into it in order for it to work properly.

  6. I appreciate the answer. I think, you know, for me, I'm just frustrated because I knew from the jump this would happen. I mean, we saw it happen in city government. We saw it happen in the school system. We've seen it happen across the state with this particular ERP system. So I'm just kind of frustrated that we are here where we are today. Granted, you're asking because you included it in the original budget. So I guess that's somewhat of a win. But the reality of it is I just hate that we're here because I've been a witness to all of the things that have happened. It's interesting to know…

  17. Thank you, Madam Chair. I did ask this question committee. We do know that there is a difference in cost versus the last contract. And with the understanding that, of course, things like cost of living, inflation, all of the things happen. But I wanted to know with this particular contract, what are we getting different? That should be addressing some of the issues that you know that we've heard for the past year or so regarding the previous contract.

  18. Thank you for that. I think that's important because I also want the listening public and our constituents to understand the difference between these two contracts and with the hope as you are, you know, you have been with us pretty much every commission meeting where you hear people come and advocate regarding loved ones and their family, friends, and our community members that have passed on. So I would like to believe that this is an opportunity for us to show them something different. Yes, ma'am. Thank you.

  20. Thank you for that. In my last 20 seconds, just when you come back, when you mentioned staffing, that always was another question that we often had around what was the number of people who have been hired, what was the number of openings, and really paying attention to what's the hiring cycle around that. We'd love to. Okay. Thank you. Thank you, Madam Chair.

  22. Okay. That does answer my question. I wanted to be on record regarding that, though. I think, you know, coming here today, I heard the number mentioned quite often on the news as to this is what we're going to be talking about. But sometimes that can be sensationalized without understanding as to why things cost more than what they used to cost. So I wanted to be very clear that we put that on the record. as well as if there are some things that we are getting different. Sounds like we are, but I want us to be very clear to the listening public, as well as to my brand-new colleagues here…
