Most people know in Baldwin County before you move anything especially if you're in a zoned area you better get you better go ask the county and I'm and so I've told her that when we had the meeting but so I'm really Anyway, go ahead. But thank you for clarifying.
Thank you. Ms. Chairman, do you mind if I ask one more question?
Say, hypothetical, this fails, this PRD.
What would she have to do to get it compliant? She would have to move all those mobile homes?
Well, thank you for asking that question. That helps me out, too.
Announce no, I think between Commissioner Underwood, I think you know her questions and her clarification I think that what I and this is the soft spot on me. I'm concerned if it does Not pass is what she has to and the owner has to Have to deal with but I know that's not what I'm here to do but I'm just wondering is Is there anything else that we can help her with them? I mean, I asked her that question. If we put the tires on it, could she move them? But that still doesn't matter because the state's already recognized it as a matter of fact.
But I'm not clear, so I know Commissioner Underwood is, but tell me, so if we approve this or deny this, I need to know about the gravel, you said about the gravel.
Yeah, and I understand what you're saying, and I thank you for clearing that, helping me out with that. But I say, because what I'm looking at is that the mobile home or the manufactured homes I have a problem with.
But the driveway part, because she was grandfathered in, why don't we just, okay, I don't know the census, but to leave, let her keep that.
Yeah, and so if we do, and I'm just saying, if it does pass, what are we opening ourself up for the future for the new commission and the new RV places?
Well, I just want to say this to the commission. I really appreciate it because she's really worked hard. I know she spent a lot of money, but at the same time, you've got to do your homework too. And I'm not saying anything to belittle her because I really have a lot of respect for her, but she should have, you know, got up with the county before she started moving in mobile home, little manufactured homes And I hope the citizens are listening in the future. If it's zoned, you better get with the county first before you do anything else.
Mr. Chairman, we need a second. Yeah, all right.
I'll make a motion that we approve case number Z26-36.
I just want to say thank you, staff, like we always do. Thank you all for putting this together. This is my last meeting here in Fairhope, and it's been enjoyable. I'm really going to miss you guys, but I'm not going to miss these planning and zoning cases.
No, no. I'm going to be nice. You know that. But, no, I just want to say that. I've got to know some friends and got to work with some great people in this county, and it's been an honor. Thank you. I'm not going to go too far from politics, but I'm going to be watching, see what happens. But I just want to do a shout out to Tom. He's not here, but, and Frank and Mark and everybody, Lee, I mean, Brian, all the staff that had anything to do with the hurricane situation. Y'all were top notch. You prepared, you were ready, and I love it. So I'm leaving it in good hands, I should say. But thank…
Mr. Chairman, do you mind if I say one more thing? Go ahead. I've got to brag about my daughter. Got accepted to auburn so I'm my youngest so I I know I know Roger and Frank and everybody else he's Engineers but I'm just proud of her so you'd be wearing Orange well I don't know about that but I I I will I will but anyway thank you I just want to I got a shout out to my daughter I'm very proud of her so anyway thank you okay I want to go ahead and thank the staff for
Please stand with me with the pledge, please. Sorry.
Yeah, I have a question for CF1. All of a sudden, are we terminating... something with Summerdale when we just approved it a couple months ago. Why is it on the agenda? Who requested to put it on the agenda?
Eddie, and I trust what you're saying and I believe it, but that just sounds like a song and dance to me. I'm going to be honest with you because all of a sudden this just pops up, you know, and we just signed the body just approved this two months ago. So this this This program or this development's been going on and it just didn't come up yesterday. And I'm not disrespecting you at one bit, but if we're going to do this for Somerdale, then we need to do it for all of them. And I just don't, with the body just approving it, You know, two months ago, and all of a sudden now it comes on the…
Does the city of Somerdale know what's fixing to happen? Have they been notified at all?
Yeah, well, I saw this on the agenda, and I reached out to Mayor Farris this morning. He didn't know anything about it. And I asked him, I said, has anybody been fired or anybody let go? And he said no. So I don't know what's going on. So I'd like to pull this from the and let us vote on it in the regular meeting. Because it just doesn't look good. I mean, y'all know this. Right here at the end, we gave them the extension until December 31st. to allow these municipalities to do this. And y'all know this. I didn't like it at the beginning. Y'all know that. I didn't like, if you live in the…
Mark, I got a question for CO3, speed limit adjustment on County Road 64. So we're gonna, and I'm sorry, I apologize. I didn't click on that one to look and see. What's the plan there?
commissioners before we adopt this proclamation do y'all want to say anything I just want to say thank you Andre and miss smart for doing what you do for Baldwin County and for domestic violence it is a tough situation and I just want to say thank you
Yeah, I knew it was going to pass when we came here, why I pulled it. I just think it looks bad for the county to take away Summerdale's permitting just because some big developer. When have we ever listened to developers? And, you know, as a body, why do we do that? I just feel like it's setting the wrong precedent to do this when we just approved it two months ago to give the county or allow Silver Hill and Summerdale to do this. And all of a sudden now, Something happened and then all of a sudden now we're taking it away from them. It just doesn't look good. But I knew I was gonna get…
Are we going to, Frank, are we going to make sure the public's aware of the exceptions? It doesn't affect, you know, building permits and all that, too. We're going to stress that because a lot of people are going to be hitting y'all's office, Eddie's office, up pretty hard about building permits.
