And that's all I have. You know, I will just note, and unless the budget's in front of me, sometimes I'm not good with numbers, but we pay into NACO. They are our national lobbying and advocacy and data. And I love that you're using their stuff because sometimes I get their emails and I'm like, oh, I'm going to read that on a Sunday, but they do a ton of work and they have all kinds of media kits and, You know, I'm trying to do a much better job of like, oh, let's look at PILT. I'm going to go on NACO's site and read about PILT and make sure I know what's going on with that. So thank you for…
That would be good to get you guys on the mailing list.
Awesome. Lovely. Thank you, sir. And we have been, I can't remember if this is budgeted next year, they have an annual legislative conference in February. Okay. And it's expensive, but you go with, there's about 3,600 counties in the country.
It's in the D.C. Yeah, that's in D.C. And I am hoping, we've been. Wow. And they have like a rural caucus. They, you get to, you know, we go up on the hill. Wow. And being senators and representatives. Yeah. Matt got me in a press conference a couple years ago that went viral federal electeds and I'm like marcia you're going so I'm part of this group so stand there with a little thought I was representing wow that was on broadcast awesome yeah so I am hoping we can get a commissioner to have the experience because it's amazing and it goes Wednesday through so it's a hall I mean it's like…
And other commissioners. It's where I believe our strength in our regional commissioners has come from. One of them in addition to CCI is that we you know, we have time to talk to each other and we're traveling together And it's like let's form this five by five group. So anyway, it's all good stuff.
All right. Marcia Porter Norton, La Plata County Commissioner. And we'll start over here.
I have nothing to remove from the consent agenda. Thank you.
Commissioner Philbrick, I move that we approve today's special business meeting agenda for the Board of County Commissioners on October 2nd at 10.05. 10.01, excuse me.
Nothing to disclose, Madam Chair. Thank you.
Madam chair I have nothing to remove and I Would move that we approve today's consent agenda with the three items all those in favor aye aye Motion passes and the consent agenda is approved as presented Now we will move on to the decision agenda We'll begin hearing the decision agenda with item number one
Any questions? I don't, just for, I think you said this, I apologize, but we have known this is coming, you came to board discussion time and we've been, the county attorney's office has been soliciting our feedback, so I read the letter and all my feedback is in there. The 108,000 surface area acres, that is in La Plata county, correct? Because my understanding is the makeshale also goes down into new Mexico? The field?
All right, and it is on my contingent on voting yes on this. And then do you know the timeline? So when, and again, you could get back to me later, but once this, I know there was a short comment period, and then they will, what's the next step from the BLM perspective?
Thank you, Madam Chair. And I want to make a comment that, first of all, thank you for all the work, Ashley and county attorney, and all the staff that put work into this. This is a very big deal for our community and for the tribe. And I just want to say we have an excellent relationship With the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, the commissioners and the tribal counselors meet quarterly. Our attorneys talk all the time. And we look forward to collaboratively working with them as they develop their energy resources that they have done quite successfully in the past. And at the same time, it's not a…
All right. I will amend my recommended action to say with discretion to the vice chair to change the signature blocks should Commissioner Salka not be available today. As we said, he is meeting with the governor today on the enterprise gas bill.
No, I was gone last week. And for the listening public to know, if you wonder why commissioners take time off at the same time, it's because we... Some of us take time off in the fifth week, which is kind of rare on the on the annual calendar when we don't have a meeting so Both Commissioner Salka and I were gone Last week we are in budget season as we know anybody can listen in on those online we're meeting with all of the departments and And in terms of any common items, I will be on a CCAT Interim Issues and Policy Committee on Thursday. Everything else is budget meetings. And that's it…
Good morning, Vicki. We can hear you. Thank you.
Did you miss Katie's Doing the Jeopardy?
It was so funny because it wasn't just a few lines. She did it. She did the whole thing. It was quite funny. I was I think Zach. Yeah, Zach.
Elizabeth Filbrick, La Plata County Commissioner. Richard Porter Norton, La Plata County Commissioner.
Thank you. Thank you. Vicki, thanks for all your work. Question, this went, and I guess it's for Jeff too, this went through our budget review process before we're seeing it, correct?
So that's that's our sponge process before it gets to us. So, yeah, I think this is critical. I mean, you know, seniors getting to appointments, seniors getting what they need is just critical. So it looks like you or sounds like you have really done a lot of thought on this.
Yeah, and I would just make a note, Vicki, because you mentioned the hiring freeze that was pre-1A as a cost-cutting measure. One of the things we obviously ran on, it was right in our literature, was protecting vulnerable neighbors. And I can't imagine people more vulnerable than seniors that can't get somewhere.
It's also as much as the flood last year. Yeah. Is that what you just said? Well, I was like half listening and looking at your report, honestly, although I did look at it, I promise.
commitment, if any, for a property and sales tax by November 23rd?
Okay. And then when will we get the feasibility study?
