“Shree, and that total with the new revenue, is that less their salaries? Is that the total without those new position salaries? Is that the true up number?”
“And just for clarity, is that 179? I mean, is that the pages under, I'm not gonna have you look, but under fire in our books, that's where that is, right? Under the 178, 179 that she's referring to when you see those? budgeted and then amendment, that's where we find those to see the percentages to answer your question. Is that correct? I can find that there.”
“Right, and I do see the PSST breakdown. That doesn't matter to me where it's coming from. It's just, to Nancy's point, where's the percentages of it, and where's the needle moving?”
“Yes. Okay, I wanted to make sure that was. Councilman Donaldson.”
“I don't see any questions, so let's recess for a 10-minute break. Thank you. Thank you. We're in recess.”
“Looks like that's it. Well, I guess not. That's when Donaldson is slow to the punch today.”
“I have a question from Councilman Donaldson.”
“I have a question from Councilman Donaldson.”
“Those are the great use of our dollars that need to be spent on those types of functions, in my opinion. Councilman Hingem.”
“This close to noon, we're going to break five minutes early. Lucky for you, we have a 30.”
“good afternoon we are back in session for the city council 2027 budget work session and next up we have parks recreation and cultural services good afternoon schuyler good afternoon madam president pro tem risley and council members appreciate the opportunity to talk a little bit about our budget”
“I do have a question from Councilman Leidenweber.”
“Thank you. Next up, Public Works. Hi, Rich.”
“So how many pothole crews do you have today?”
“Well, I thought I saw, correct me if I'm wrong, four pothole crews in the budget completely.”
“Okay, so you have four pothole crews, not talking trucks. That's what I thought I saw. You're just asking for another pothole crew.”
“I know intimately, and the 2C prohibits city employees doing that work. However, it doesn't keep them from contracting out. And so, I don't know, best and highest use may not be to add four or five EFTs when the 2C could contract it out. And wouldn't you agree filling potholes is just the band-aid?”
“And we have $80 million a year, or $80 million in 2C.”
“And so when you're talking best and highest use, instead of adding four more that could go to Councilman Risley's point, other departments to be filled, yeah. You could have 2C, but they'd just have to use outside contractors. They cannot use city employees.”
“And that takes care of the potholes on those roads. So you used the stormwater scenario, so I used the 2C scenario. Councilman Lineweber?”
“I don't see any at this, oh, Councilman Rainey, slow to the punch again.”
“Thank you. We are going to take a 15 minute.”
“Yeah, we're gonna take 15, so we'll be back around 2.17. We're in recess.”
“36. Good afternoon, and welcome back to the City Council 2027 Budget Work Session. And next up, we will hear from the airport. Good afternoon, Alex.”
“Did you plan the airplane to go overhead during this presentation?”
