“I know it's not a topic as well, but I just want to put it on the record. I would love for us to figure out what we are doing with the marijuana funds, coming up with a process and possibly doing something to target tax relief for those that we have dispensaries in the area. So I just want to put it on the record for us to look at that as well. Madam chair, I'll go by with the finance committee. Thank you.”

“Thank you, Madam President. Good to see you, Lieutenant Elliott, again. Councillor. Some questions. Did the amount increase from last year? Modestly. Okay. And then I know we go through this every year. Are you looking to add any of the partnerships other than BHN? And if so, what would that process look like or are you comfortable with BHN moving forward or you're not?”

“Thank you, Madam President. I also want to speak on this item as a report, and I apologize not getting it out, but we did meet on the 29th with Chris Signoli, Lindsay Hackett, Councilor Davila, Councilor Perez, and Kathy. So he already gave the overview. I just want to commend the city for listening to the city council and other members. us advocating to come up with a comprehensive plan, and this is something that is needed. We didn't make a recommendation, but we did. I know he brought it to the Finance Committee for Monday, so I just want the report on that. So thank you, Madam President.”

“And then... All right, Councilor Click-Bruce. Thank you, Madam President. Thank you for the resolution and taking the lead on that. I'm a firm believer in early education. My mom was an educator. at Early Childhood Center. So I know firsthand what early child education can do to our young families and not only in the city of Springfield, but across the Commonwealth. So I'm happy to support this. It's something that we need to advocate for more of. So thank you again, Council President, for taking the lead on this. And I do remember that now. So yes, I look for hopefully our colleagues to…”

“Thank you, Vice President Delgado. I'd like to table this item as we would like to give more time to the, I know the food truck organizations were looking to form a committee, so I'll be reaching out to them I was kind of giving them some time to get through the festivals and other activities throughout the summer. So I'll look to have a meeting sometime in the near future to get some of their findings and some of their requests and then bring all of us together to have another meeting. to hopefully put this to rest prior to going into next year. That is my hope, but willing to take how much…”

“Councilor Click-Bruce. Thank you, Vice President. I think Councilor Dowler raises a great point, but to the point of clarification, I think we have until... November at the very least. So I would look to have a meeting between this month to at least get another meeting with those food truck operators and some other folks in the room to discuss. So the meeting would definitely happen before November, before it initially runs out. So hopefully that satisfies the question. What a great question.”

“Thank you, Vice President. Thank you, Councilor Hurst, for that. I guess to your point, I guess I would have to see what we have on this, because I didn't see, I didn't know it was going to be on the agenda, what we actually have on this ordinance as it's written, and then making sure that we have in there, and again, we can do that on the floor, that we have in there, it's a continuation of the pause. Just want to make sure we have that in there, the verbiage, to make sure everything's correct. But I'm not opposed. I thank you, Counselor Walsh, for that. I'm not opposed to it. Again, we're…”

“Thank you, Vice President. Yeah, and I was going to ask Gladys to do that as well, and I withdraw my motion to table this item. I'm in agreement with taking the second step to ensure that our food truck vendors are at least getting through the summer months and fall, actually, to make sure that they're covered. Thank you, Vice President. Thank you. Councilor Govan.”

“Thank you, Vice President. I just want to make clear and read into the record that also what we're voting on is making sure we're keeping what the previous ordinance was initially from the City of Springfield and not what we as a council voted in. So I just want to make sure that's clear and understood. Thank you, Vice President.”

Want to bring this forth through the city council, um, state representative Orlando Ramos, um, put this out on a state level. I'm more than willing to, to have several meetings with NAACP, uh, also with other organizations, uh, particularly in the black and brown community to bring educational to this, uh, Our intention is not to target anyone, but particularly just to prevent dangerous acts that are happening in our city. “Okay. I just have a question. Thank you, Vice President. Just for clarification, I think I know the answer. Whose committee is this in, and is that person going to be willing to host a meeting prior to the date? Was that in general government? Or what is the holdup on having a meeting? Just want to get some feedback.”
