“I just want to report on one thing. Councilmember Franning and I serve on the board of LAFTA, which is the wheels bus system. And we have placed a portable bathroom at the Dublin BART station for just for our wheels bus drivers. They have to have and use the app to open the door. And because they have a very short break there before continuing on the route. and it's just not enough time for them to walk all the way to the station to the very back where the bathrooms are, hope that there's a stall available, and then walk all the way back out. So this is going to be great for their health and…”

“I have a question potentially for our city attorney or city clerk. In an election where there's only one candidate, is there a way for that candidate to lose? Is there a minimum number of votes they need? No. No, but if they get zero or one, and presumably the candidate himself will vote for himself, so they would get at least the one vote, and that's enough to win. So there's no way for the outcome to be any different than us appointing them today, in which case I think we should save the $250,000.”

“And, you know, these were not people who've already been elected by the people? Correct. I might think differently, but they've already been elected by the people, and they've served. People have watched them serve, and no one has challenged them.”

“I've also read the emails and appreciate that and agree that there have been no changes to this project. So I'm comfortable with staff recommendation. Okay. Do I have a motion? I'll move approval of staff recommendation.”

“This makes me a little nostalgic thinking back to the early meetings of this process, which I attended and because I wanted to see how a plan like this gets put together. How does a city go about putting together a plan like this? And what I saw until I was elected and not really welcomed at those meetings anymore. um was just community members coming together to serve officially on the general plan advisory committee and also to the ones who came and attended every single meeting and sat through the meetings as long as they went and made thoughtful comments and um both the people sitting…”

“um i i'll leave the labor issues to council member to address um is it fair to say that some of the issues that particularly neighbors of this property some of the concerns that they've brought up are things that City Council Chambers, will be considered and addressed and as the development of the project goes on, but this is not the stage at which we would address those I mean I right now, we just don't have I don't have the information to vote up or down on those kinds of concerns.”

“City Council Chambers, yeah I had the same thought that you know, encourage and engage and those those aren't the strongest we're nothing requiring anything, and so it's very easy to support.”

“I want to echo the appreciation for our city staff and for Wheels and all the community members who participated in putting on a Great Fourth of July celebration. And especially want to thank Wheels for having backup buses ready that they put right into service when the crowds got big and really reduced wait times. And I got so many texts from friends who rode Wheels for the first time and thought it was a great experience. So... And I was one of the people that waited 45 minutes last year just to turn from 84 onto the airport. So I thought it went really great this year. Saturday, I joined…”
