“to the next city council meeting or whatever, another city council meeting, it's still going to be consent agenda? Is that something?”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  2. Play at 8:41
“Okay, it wouldn't be consent. It would be just a regular agenda item in the city council so that people can speak to it publicly?”

“Yeah, first off, I have a question. I noticed that the board would be five people. Why not seven people where we'd have one picked by each of the council members like we do the other commissions? So each council member would have somebody in the community, obviously, related to youth sports in some way that they would nominate to the committee. Why five? Why not seven?”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  4. Play at 57:35
“Okay, and then, I mean, just my two cents about it. I mean, it's been a long time since I've had kids in sports. I used to a long time ago, and they're all grown. I appreciate and understand that we have a top-notch sports park and that we need to have programming and tournaments and events for the kids that are equivalent to that, certainly a notch above. And it is an awful lot for the current Parks and Board Committee to... I think do at a level I think that is appropriate. So I have no problem with creating a board. I recommend that it be seven people, one appointed by each person on…”

“Yeah, I think the facade improvements are outstanding. So, yes, I approve the $10,000 facade improvement for this first property that we're talking about.”

“Hi, Ashley. I have a question. The grease trap, $19,500. That's a very expensive grease trap for such a small business. So where did you get that number from? Because just some, you know, stupid searches on the internet indicate that that's kind of more of a high end in ground grease trap that may not be necessary for the type of usage that you're expecting.”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  7. Play at 2:44:39
“Okay, that's my grease trap question. I'll circle back around after all these other people. Okay.”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  8. Play at 2:46:54
“can list the items, right? Milk and cream fats, coffee grounds, butter, oil residues, even dishwashing, waste water. And it doesn't have to be a McDonald's that makes French fries and fries chicken. It's just...”

“Yeah, I agree with Councilman Armstrong regarding the bathroom. I think especially knowing that the city of Keller already has plans to put a bathroom in at the completion of the Elm Street project, if not sooner. There's a chance we can move it up to be sooner. So we're going to put in bathrooms there. So for the city to invest in additional bathrooms as part of your project, I do struggle with that. Grease traps. back to the grease trap. I just never thought I'd talk about such a thing. But grease trap, you know, I would offer, I guess there's a motion and an aye, so I would have to, I…”

“So I'd like to amend the motion to make it so that we, rather than the full amount that you have requested for the chapter 380, that we cap it at $10,000. And then that would be refunded to us if you don't spend that much. And it would be refunded once you receive a certificate of occupancy for that building. That's how I'd like to put the motion. Does that make sense?”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  11. Play at 3:02:18
“The grease trap is what I meant. Yeah, the grease trap.”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  12. Play at 3:09:06
“Yeah, I just have a question. What was the discussion in P&Z? Why it wasn't unanimous? What were some of the issues or some of the problems they had with it? Do you remember?”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  13. Play at 3:16:17
“And I guess I have one more comment about the encroachment issue. I think it looks like from the picture, you already have concrete there, right? The concrete. So, I mean, you're just taking down, you tore down the shell structure that was there previously. You got the pad still sitting there in the same location it always was. You're just going to put a taller pad structure on it. So that makes it, you know, obviously more explanation as why you're not moving it. because you're not going to go pour additional slab and concrete underneath that. So I don't have any problem with it. Thank you.”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  14. Play at 3:17:15
“Yeah, I'd like to make a motion to approve this item.”

    City Council · Sep 15, 2026

  15. Play at 6:06
“This is one where they already had the tables there, the game tables there, and they didn't realize they needed an SUP so they're coming back and getting an SUP.”

“You're not in the center. They're in the center.”

“Just a question for staff real quick. I'm also in favor of this item. I believe this is in reaction to the electric charging stations that were placed at the Walmart that we all didn't really realize were going to be there, and they were allowed by right because it was considered retail. This would then require that they would come in front of city council the next time something like that comes up.”

    City Council · Sep 1, 2026

  18. Play at 1:19:11
“Well, maybe we just reference where else in the code it is that you could just reference a certain section. Because I know that we go in sometimes and we rewrite some of the code that's duplicate and repeat it rather than repeating it again. We could always just reference a section, so if that section later changes, we don't have to go back and change this. Sure. It would apply. Just a suggestion.”

  19. Play at 1:21:23
“They have a minimum stay requirement of two days. I didn't see any of that in your”

  20. Play at 1:21:48
“I don't know what the concern is there, the one night versus two nights.”

    City Council · Sep 1, 2026

  21. Play at 1:22:54
“Are we concerned legally? I mean, if we just outright ban? I mean, I'm all for grandfathering the ones that already exist, but making them apply and get them on the record and all that. But for brand new STRs in residential areas, are we open to legal action? Because I think there's been some cases in the state of Texas, Austin particularly, where that was an issue because of personal property rights and the ability for an individual to do what they want to with their land if it doesn't violate the law. So that's what I wonder if that part of it would be a problem for the city.”

    City Council · Sep 1, 2026

  22. Play at 1:24:07
“And like write it out and see what it looks like?”

    City Council · Sep 1, 2026

  23. Play at 1:24:57
“I guess my opinion is that why don't we write up what we think it's going to be, how it's going to read, and we have one more city council work session where we all look at it and read it and then say, yeah, it's good, let's submit it to PNC.”

    City Council · Sep 1, 2026

  24. Play at 1:36:11
“that already are operating in SDR would have to go through the process and make sure that they satisfy all the requirements. They wouldn't have to go through the SUP process because they're already in SDR, but they would have to pass all the requirements that we're now putting on the SDR. That's part of number three.”

    City Council · Sep 1, 2026

  25. Play at 1:46:42
“Then basically we would redline it and then it would go on.”
