“Okay, thank you for that. We'll strike that part. So even though I'm going to be supporting this budget amendment tonight still, I was in opposition to the $70,000 for the special election because of the date. I don't want to cry over spilled milk because I do want to respect the will of the body and the will of the people. But Because I am going to be voting for that $70,000 at the end of the day, but still, though I don't like it, I am going to respect the will of the body. I just want to state that for the record, and I will be supporting this amendment with that in mind.”

“All right, thank you, Madam Mayor. So, good evening. So, normally I would speak about events in the community that I have attended. However, this evening and our next council meeting on September 8th, I will utilize my council comments specifically to the topic and concern that my fellow neighbors are voicing to us out of respect for them. That issue is data centers. I will start by thanking all of you for speaking to us this evening. I will always value and protect public comment. There is one event, though, that I did attend that I want to talk about. So this past Saturday, along with my…”

“Um, thank you, madam mayor. Uh, thank you for the presentation. Um, so 2 questions for the developer 1st, don't mirror what council member Morris said about the, I noticed in the, in the slide that there is a little bit of green space on the South end of the property, but it doesn't seem like it's a park. So, is that what's the purpose of that? And could we expand on that too?”

“Okay, and my second question is the on the east end of the property we have the 166 unit senior housing. Is that independent living?”

“So it would probably be, in that case, it would be independent. Independent, yes, sorry. Okay, thank you very much for the answers. Thanks for being here tonight.”

“Thank you, Madam Mayor. You know, with respect to my colleagues in the majority on this issue, I voted no on the first reading two weeks ago, and I'm voting no tonight on these resolutions. The only reason I am voting no is because I have a disagreement with the date of the election. I still feel that we could do this election next year where it would be no cost to the city. As I said, beside from the date, you know, I'm in agreement. Otherwise, I do feel that since our neighbors do need to have a say, but not at extra cost. So that is the reason for my no votes from two weeks ago. And this…”

“Thank you, Madam Mayor. I'll be brief so we can get home. First of all, I did neglect to mention this in my council comments. So, Tammy, thank you for your amazing work for our city the last five years. You've been very instrumental in our city's growth, and you definitely have helped Devin, Drew, and I when we sworn into council. You've been an invaluable asset to our city and to us, and we are in your debt. We hope you enjoy retirement. It is greener on the other side, even though I'm semi-retired now, but still, it is well-deserved. And Jessica, what can I say about you? It was truly an…”

You know, we kind of met in passing over the years since I moved here, you know, before I decided to take the leap and run for the seat and be up here and Um, and you're definitely a rock star in this, in the state. No question about it. Your knowledge of transportation, uh, is practically unparalleled. Um, but you've made a positive impact on so many lives and my deepest thanks to you for that. “Thank you again, Madam Mayor Pro Tem. Yes, this is a very important topic. Obviously, immunizations are very important. If we weren't aware of that, we were during the COVID-19 pandemic. Immunizations do save lives. I'm an Army veteran, so I have had more immunizations in me than I know, but still is why I'm here and why I'm healthy at the ripe young age of 62. So I am very honored and humbled to introduce this resolution tonight and make sure families that you get your kiddos vaccinated. And that's all I have. Thank you.”

It's a great thing about being up here, learning new things every single day, learning what private activity bonds are. I've really been nerding over that this month. Even with my health situation, it really kept my mind off things and really helped me. focus and pay attention, you know, how important these are to especially to residents and neighbors that definitely need to get into affordable housing and give them the opportunity to do so. And also thank you for the quick reply concerning my neighbor and friend who's been, who had a red light camera ticket and dealing with that. And thank you for following up with her about the process. I am glad that we look at it before then we authorize the ticket. But still, it goes to this question, right? You know, we need clarity and consistency. You know, just like in baseball, our home plate empire has their own version of what a strike zone is. We need consistency on how long you're supposed to be stopped at the red…”

So. Just want to make sure that we're staying on top of what's going on. Plus, they have a homeless situation that's been ongoing, too. But thank you for bringing that report up.
