I feel as though Erie experiences a lot of trauma regularly, and our community doesn't have enough time to process the trauma, so we're always in survival mode. And I think that it sometimes affects us in different ways to where we're not addressing the self-care that we need, the mental health that we need. Yeah, I always have an issue when out-of-state purchasers come in wanting to buy up a large number of our blighted or vacant lots just for the simple fact of if we went to the neighbors, would the neighbors buy it? And it's like we as a city have to do a little bit more grocery footwork to preserve the land that we have because we've seen where in other cities and states how they've been gerrymandered out and a lot of the local residents don't have access to obtain land so the fact that we have an abundance of land I think we just need to do a little better at letting the neighbors know that…
I just wanted to report on the last day to register to vote is October 19th in order to participate in the November 3rd general election at the Erie County Courthouse. You have the ability to vote early to get it done. That way you don't have to DEAL WITH LINES OR YOUR WORK SCHEDULE ON ELECTION DAY. I had a question. Did we ever get any information as far as code enforcement finding out about the house if it was occupied?
Well, they want to buy multiple vacant lots, but I believe only one had actual structure on it, and they weren't sure themselves if someone was living there, but it did look like someone was living there.
Which one? I can't remember if it was the 739. I just remember people taking notes at the last council meeting.
I just know that based off of the repository letter information, I think the 7838 is the one that has the structure on it, because it specifically says I would like to improve the property and bring revenue back to the city. And then when I look at the note for the repositories for the other address, which is the, it doesn't really tell me that there's a structure there.
