“Yeah, 1st of all, thank you for coming today and providing a presentation. You know, we haven't looked at our 457 plan place it out for bid for. Quite a long time and, you know, as I've engaged with over the course of years, particularly this year, we've heard a host of. Experiences from other commissioners that feel the way that I do related to ensuring that our employees have education. We're in a government environment where the pay is less. We're in a difficult. world of affordability where people cannot make their income work the way that it is let alone think about retirement savings…”

“So give me an idea. If we're targeting, let's say, young families and young mothers, I'm thinking of children and youth, for example, where we've got lower salaries, a whole host of needs in the young family, repaying student debt. How would you run a campaign if we'd say we would determine with Nationwide, we want to target those individuals and provide an opportunity of resentment to them? How would that look in that kind of relationship and sort of what would be your role in that? Going out and meeting with staff and employees and trying to encourage their participation. And the last part…”

“But the trend from positions, I think I remember the arguments were. It may not help. I'm sorry a 40,000 dollar investment that has had shown some level of achievement related to actual positions and. filling those spots as a possible opportunity to be able to curb those overtime costs. As we've seen, that's the approach.”

“It was definitely in the prison board have shown that there were results from the Apollo efforts. 26 budget is 6.6 22 million hours just you got a microphone so you're good obviously i would prefer any of these dollars to come out of um the uh The prison fund, obviously those dollars are no longer available to do that, but I think it's a mistake to not continue to try to invest in some level of recruitment efforts to be able to address those overtime costs. I've got a couple questions.”

“Um, I think this board, I think this board has been very clear. In talking about the level of expectation and outcomes for businesses. I mean, we, we know parking is probably 1 of the biggest barriers for business in downtown Harrisburg. That's very, very clear. And I think this board former boards wanted to be a part of that solution. Uh, but in order to ensure that businesses are benefiting, we asked for some specific data. data around the ability to see who was parking there, what times they were parking, how much was it utilized. We even talked about and floated the idea about businesses…”

“Hearing none, Commissioner's remarks. Commissioner Harwood. Just to piggyback on the opening remarks, I want to obviously give a great deal of credit to our staff, starting out with Chief Clerk Haggerty, Vince Pease, who has been drafted for a job that he's never signed up for, and for those staff at Economic Development that continue, despite being in challenging circumstances and understaffed continue to provide a level of work ethic and credibility to ensure that they are meeting the many obligations of our economic development staff. So for all involved in these reforms, I want to say…”

“efforts at solid waste. I mean, there's a host of things that we outlined in the last budget as we are getting closer to, you know, past mid-year. It would be great to know where we are with progress on closing the gap on a number of those areas where I believe we're spending money and the needs don't exist. And we need to press back on directors to be able to put together a plan to ensure that taxpayers aren't going to be footing the bill.”

“Yes. Mr. chairman if I could, um, I tabled this last week. Uh, I was, I had the opportunity, uh, over this past week to represent Pennsylvania, the National Association of counties on the board of directors. And in doing so, I met with some of the representatives from nationwide. Um, there's a number of questions that I had related to the review process and to the selection that occurred here that, um, I've not been able to finalize and what I've. developed has been sort of an exchange and information that is clarifying some of what i've heard versus what proposals were so i said instead of…”

“Just bear with me. I've got a little bit of lengthy remarks today, just from a federal updates perspective. And then there's a lot of happening events tonight. So I just want to give them their consideration. First of all, start off last Thursday. I had the opportunity to participate in Rural Transportation Day at the Northern Dolphin Human Services Center alongside Bonnie Kent, Rich Farr of Rapid Transit and Representative Fleming together yesterday. We experienced firsthand the critical role shared share ride transportation plays in connecting rural residents with essential medical care and…”
