“Thank you so much, Council President. Thank you all for all of our firefighters that are here today. It was an honor to attend and witness the 75th anniversary celebration and get to meet so many firefighters that have served in different generational capacities and to see the integrity that you all show up with every day. You can see it in every corner of the firehouse. I think that you all, even the symbol of the flamingo, trying to count all the flamingos in the station is a fun activity. But seeing you all hang out outside on federal on the weekends and connect with community is what…”

“Let's go ahead and get started with Councilmember Alvidrez. Thank you so much, Council President. I wanted to start off by thanking Dottie and Director Amy Ford for helping us make the benefit concert for the historic Baker Garden this weekend possible. We had a great turnout. If anybody's looking for a cause to support, there's a historic Baker Garden that is used for food access and one of Denver Urban Gardens gardens. And they're trying to fundraise to keep it. It was recently the owner has decided to sell it and so they're trying to keep that. But thank you to the Porch Fest team for…”

“Thank you, Council President. I just wanted to highlight this bridge. The pedestrian bridge is essential to making Santa Fe Yards a truly transit-oriented, community-serving development. It will connect the Broadway station, light rail station, directly to the stadium and to housing, businesses, parks, and the South Platte River Trail. Very important things to District 7. I also want to highlight that one of the first traffic deaths that I experienced as an elected official was right here as a bicyclist was trying to cross Santa Fe and Mississippi. That loss has stayed with me since then and…”

We'll be there Wednesday at 5 p.m. Another fun community event we have coming on Saturday. The great organizers of Porch Fest have decided to do a free concert to benefit the Baker Urban Garden. “Thank you, Council President. My question was around, were we getting a new contractor? And we are. One of the complaints that my office has been getting is that they have to pay their bill in a different state. And so my question is, Is the new contractor, are people still going to have to pay their bill and send it to a different state before it can be processed?”

“Thank you, Council President. I just wanted to send a shout out and thank you to Police District 3 who helped recover a beloved bike this weekend. It was all over the news that a local DJ that uses a very special bike as part of his DJing had it stolen and it was able to be recovered. It took a lot of community looking around and finding it and ultimately DPD District 3 stepping in to help the people at Desert Social recover that. So I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you, Council President.”

“Whereas Councilwoman Sarah Paradis brought a fierce heart, a sharp mind, and a noble spirit to the pursuit of justice, approaching every challenge with courage, compassion, and unwavering conviction. Through her leadership and relentless advocacy, she helped move Denver forward in just three years in ways that might have otherwise taken decades. challenging us all to think bigger and act bolder, including putting people over parking by removing parking minimums citywide, bringing ADUs citywide, and uplifting our houseless neighbors' safety in extreme weather conditions. “Thank you, Council President. Thank you, Councilmember Parity, for being an ally. I think one of the things in my piece of the proclamation is just that you have accepted the challenge of representing all over the city. And I can say that the District 7 residents definitely feel represented by you. I have learned a lot from you coming into office as someone that has never had a political background and never made legislation. Having someone like you who is patient and willing to have hard conversations and talk about issues has taught me a lot. And so I think that the last three years that we…”
