Okay, and so I don't know if my time is expired or not. I don't see the time, but I have one last question. And this is for the banker. The question is, as far as community service and giving back to our communities, I know that the former trustees sent us a list, and I just want to know going forward, what is the banker, as far as community service, give back, especially since they're the only banker for the Shelby County government?
Thank you so much. I just sent us a copy. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Madam Chair. I just have a few questions again for Persing. I see the RFP and I was wondering if there were any non-responsive.
And I'll be asking you throughout this session, so stick around. Okay, thank you so much. Thank you, Madam Chair. Please prepare the screen for a vote.
I'll make a motion to suspend the rules.
Thank you, Madam Chair. And congratulations on your win, Madam Clerk. Thank you, Commissioner. And I'm excited about this Chick-fil-A service. Yes, ma'am. And so as you went through and saw all the antiquated systems and processes that we've seen, as well as commissioners who visit on a regular basis. address complaints. I think it's a breath of fresh air. I have a few questions. With the $6 billion that you're going to assess the process, the procedures, and look at the outcomes, I was just wondering also, are you going to look at the kiosk? Because a lot of people have been saying, we would…
Thank you, Madam Chair. I thought you were going to do all of them. We're sharing. Okay. Let's call and order the next committee, law enforcement.
Thank you, Commissioner O'Dell. And I'm sure we can all remember where we were. I was in the classroom. I had 30-something kids looking at me and didn't know what to say. And so I'm sure all of us can remember where we were at that time. And so thank you, Commissioner, for remembrance, especially those that are locally but throughout who experienced individuals who have been impacted. And that is something that we shall never forget. Thank you. Okay, so again, I would like to call the order. Committee number four, law enforcement. Parliamentarian, please read number one into the record.
Thank you so much. And we have a comment card, but if you would like to speak before, state your name and position for the record. This item has been moved by myself and is seconded by Commissioner O'Dell. Would you like to speak first or would you like to wait after this comment card?
Okay, and we have Wheeler. Okay. Spickler? Two? Okay. Thank you so much. Okay. Thank you. Please state your name and position for the record, and you may begin.
Thank you. And we have Commissioner O'Dell in the queue. Commissioner.
Thank you, and that was one of my questions, but I see Commissioner Richardson in the queue. Commissioner Richardson.
Thank you, Commissioner. And that's a good point is to maybe we have, you know, tuition reimbursement available. I know the Sheriff's Department also looks at helping individuals with not only tuition but as well as trade. And maybe that's something that we can do, expand certification on our staff. As we go forward, as people know, we are in a situation where we have a tight budget. We have a lot of people on payroll. We're top heavy, so maybe that's something you all can consider going forward. Thank you, Commissioner, for pointing that out. Next, we have Commissioner Mills.
Thank you so much. And seeing no other Commissioners in the queue, let's take this item down for a vote. Can we have a tally?
Thank you. This item goes down with the recommendation. Parliamentarian, please read item number 2 into the record.
Thank you. And this item has been moved by myself and seconded by Commissioner Caswell. And juvenile court judge Tarek Sugarman is my brother. And I have been informed that I can and I will be voting on this item as well. We do have a speaker. Please state your name and position for the record and you may begin.
Thank you so much for that. Commissioner Caswell, would you like to speak before or after the speaker? Thank you so much. Okay. Thank you. Good morning. Please state your name and position for the record.
Thank you so much. I'm going to go to the appearance cards first. I have Wheeler, if you come before us and just state your name and zip code for the commission and you may begin.
Thank you so much, and thank you for the work that you do. Again, those same sentiments and concerns, I also have those same concerns as well, so thank you. Next up, we have an appearance card from Josh Spickler. Please state your name and zip code for the record.
Thank you so much. Commissioner Caswell?
Thank you. And so I just want to put this out before going to the next commissioner. I'm looking at concerns as far as the low number of individuals that responded to this RFP. And so the question is for, well, it's a directive, rather, to... I would like for you all to submit. We do have some non-responsives. And I would like, let's see, two non-responsives. If you could give me the reason why they're not responsive by Friday, this Friday, so I can look at that. And then I'm going to go to the commissioners in the queue. We have Commissioner Richardson.
Thank you. And also make sure that you send it to all the commissioners as well. Commissioner Caswell?
Thank you so much. And Commissioner Castle, I'm going to go on to the other speakers first and then come back to you since you've already spoken once. Commissioner Garcia, the other floor.
Thank you so much. And this is the second round for these commissioners. Commissioner Caswell.
Thank you, Commissioner. And Commissioner Clayton has not spoken yet, so I'm going to let her go first.
