“Now, with that, it's not going to affect, I'm saying, are we in danger at all, setting too high, and then our farmers, are we calling them growers or farmers?”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

  2. Play at 2:33:27
“Farmers, yeah, that sounds good. Okay, our farmers are like, it's not going to ruin their current business, I guess, if we set something today that's too high. That's my concern. Because I don't know how quickly we would be turning that over and getting something more accurate.”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

  3. Play at 2:36:08
“Thank you. Okay. So then we want to set something today and then refine it is what we're talking about, right? Is there consensus on trying to do that right now?”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

  4. Play at 2:36:18
“Okay. So... I heard 5,000 from our sheriff. I think Supervisor Kuros said 5,000 at one point. I know a month ago or so, I threw out 2,500. Where do you guys want to go with this? Somewhere between those numbers? I don't know. What do you guys want to do as far as the current set? Does anyone have any opinion on that?”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

  5. Play at 2:37:40
“Okay, thank you for that. What do you got then?”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

“I'm not married to my number. Here's the thing.”

  7. Play at 2:40:10
“I gave you permission to speak again, I guess.”

  8. Play at 2:44:59
“You know, I'll just say, you know, in initial discussions, farmers were suggesting, you know, they were okay with 2,000 and then I threw 25. And that was actually, there was pushback on that number. Obviously, there's going to be pushback as we go up higher with any number from the industry itself. But so I would concur that 35, I think, is we're certainly not, I don't think we're giving anything away. And I think there's room both directions there, preferably up only, though. So I'm good with $3,500 for now.”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

“Well, I just want to really quickly before you get in there, just to comment on that, just to follow along with this Apple TV subscription analogy situation. There's also, you know, if you cancel subscription, there's a wait a second, we'll give you a month half off. So we can we can always go down if we see that it's driving everyone out. We cannot we know we can always adjust. So we don't. We don't have to worry too much.”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

  12. Play at 2:55:03
“Yeah. Well, when Supervisor Stello returns... Can I take a five-minute break?”

    Board of Supervisors · Sep 10, 2026

  13. Play at 2:55:50
“Okay, thank you. We're back from our break. We're going to continue our discussion here. Okay, so before the break, I think we were going in the direction of $3,500 for now. At least that's where I was going. I'm personally prepared to move forward with that right now as we continue hashing out the numbers going forward. Is there any objection to that? Okay, is there a motion then for...”
