  1. “Thank you, Mayor. Yes, I would like to acknowledge two things that have happened and been accomplished by our city employees. One is the Lewisville has earned the national accreditation in parks and recreation. That is something that's very unique, that's given nationally by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies. and the National Recreation and Park Association. There are only, let's say, fewer than 3% of the parks and rec agencies nationwide have earned the CAPRA accreditation. So I just wanted to congratulate our staff on a wonderful accomplishment. The other…”

  2. “Just one quick one. When you're talking about having expired drivers or vehicle license, is that only for vehicles that are licensed in the City of Louisville?”

  3. “So you could issue a fine for someone who lives in Weld County who drove through Louisville with an expired plate?”

  4. “I'll echo everything that Councilor Dickinson just said and add that I am also incredibly pleased that you're going with the heat pumps and making it all electric because that will reduce our carbon footprint, which is an important component item for me personally, and I also appreciate that you designed the building so that it doesn't impact the neighbors on each side with noise or with whatever impact that seniors would have on the kids. So thank you.”

  5. “Yes, I just want to add one more caution that you might be concerned about and that's with the senior population and it being all electric and the issues that we're having currently with our Excel energy companies that there is some kind of battery backup or storage system of some kind for seniors who are on some kind of assisted device.”

  6. “My question is on the combining of boards. If we are going to combine the Historic Preservation Commission with the Historic Museum Board, how would that impact how the two boards work as one? And so the members of both boards would be... members of the board and would have to take on the additional duties of the other board that they weren't originally a member of.”

  7. “I will echo the concerns about promoting the senior center as a kind of a separate section, not part of the rec center, but the senior center just happens to be located in the rec center. So as a separate unit. Great. Thank you.”

  10. “Well, I will first add my thanks to all of you for everything that you've done. This has been an amazing board with amazing staff that have accomplished amazing things, and I really appreciate all your efforts. I don't know what we can do to help with the issues that you have, but I'm wondering if there's any kind of... fundraising foundation or group that could be specifically for the cultural board that could publicly go out and say can you help us that would be my only suggestion I think we've tried some of that”

  12. “Talking about getting a complaint from the public and that we should refer it to staff to deal with. We had a complaint from the public about one thing we were doing for one group. promoting them or supporting them, and they said, no, you should not support them, and you should undo what you've done to support that group.”

  13. “It was kind of an artistic installation. that some people said that's great, and then some people said, no, get rid of that immediately. So then what should we as council do with a situation like that where the public disagrees?”

  16. “I'm going to kind of follow up on this a little bit. I'm wondering, with some advisory boards, they're not allowed to accept donations from the public and then specifically use them for their priorities. As a licensed board, are you a 501c3? Can you accept cash? And no. It's a fantastic question.”

  18. “I'll just build on what Councilman Heffernan just said. I think that this isn't a plan. It's a guidebook. And so this is just going to guide us to the right plan and to the right outcomes without specifying, because we don't know what will be the best decision two years from now. This is going to guide us and say, you know, look at this and look at that and go this way. But we need, this isn't the plan for what we're actually going to do. And so I think it's been wonderfully put together and it does have the priorities of the public and the council. And so we're just moving forward in this…”

  20. “I don't think we need to be that specific in what the book says because it's just saying we're going to go in this direction. These are our priorities, and these are the order in which we would like to do things, but it's not what we're actually going to do. It's just possibilities and a guide.”

  21. “I'm wondering about the same kind of thing. And instead of calling it our long-range plan, we could just call it our guidebook, our prose guidebook for what we would like to see, but there is no requirement, there's no timeline, and it's up for discussion and changes at any point. That's a long title.”

  22. “I agree. I think that staff needs the assurance that we're supporting what they've done and the public needs to know that we're supporting what the staff has done. So I would also support supporting the long-range pilot.”
