“Thank you, President Mandelman. Today, I have the honor of welcoming Commander Christopher Dalgandio to the chambers. Commander, would you please come on up and join us? You are commander now, but we are here to thank you and celebrate your time as captain of Central Station. And to do that, I know we've got about half the force here. We've got community leaders from across the district. But probably most importantly, we have your husband, Billy. We have our chief. We have our new captain of Central, Captain Doe. We've got all the right people in the room to celebrate you. Through almost 20…”

“Supervisor Sautter. Thank you, Board President, and thank you, Supervisor Chen. Congratulations on 50 years. I want to thank you for the fact that you and your team seem to be everywhere. You're covering every single event, not only in San Francisco, but in the Bay Area. I'm so impressed by your expansive coverage. I have KTSF on often. I only will understand a word or two. But there's sometimes where I'll see things that I don't see covered by anyone else. And it kind of reminds me to go check on something or it teaches me something new. So it's so, so important what you've done for these 50…”

“Thank you, Madam Clerk. Colleagues, today I'm introducing legislation to protect tenants from surprise, devastating rent hikes. We will do so by capping banked rent increases and capital improvement pass-throughs at 10% for rent-controlled tenants in our city, starting today and lasting through the end of 2029. Back in July, we commissioned a BLA report on this subject. As the report will reveal, San Francisco stands alone in its lack of protections for tenants amongst California cities that allow rent banking. This is a displacing force in our city that often isn't talked about enough. It…”

“Make sure this new system is working. Thank you, Board President. I will be voting against this item today. And I do think it has evolved to a better place. I appreciate the committee members for their amendments to get it to this point. But on the whole, I think this has an equal chance of maybe improving some things as it does detracting from what we really should be focused on here, which is a healthier tree canopy and stronger neighborhoods. Specifically, I'm worried about the fact that if we don't plant these trees at the time of construction and development, that we may never get them…”

“Thank you, Madam Clerk. Colleagues, at the beginning of this year, I asked the budget and legislative analysts to inventory and report on opportunities for using vacant or surplus city and public properties for housing and other public purposes. And at my request, the BLA has spent the past several months conducting a review of publicly owned properties across the city with the goal of identifying properties with potential for development, secondary uses, or joint development using specific evaluation criteria. They canvassed 30 city departments, agencies, and educational entities, including…”

“thank you president Mandelman and I want to say a few remarks before we continue on with the proceedings you know I think I have the pleasure of having the most community benefit districts of any district in the city and it is a real honor to work with downtown partnership this is a really special group of people and the work that they do is really phenomenal There's a few things I want to highlight and a few things that I think really deserve to be recognized about how we're doing this. And the first is that this is a partnership model. This is in fact the first time that the port of San…”

“Thank you, Madam Clerk. Colleagues, today I'm submitting a letter of inquiry to the Department of Public Works to better answer how the city maintains its sidewalks and curb ramps. Sidewalks are one of our city's most basic and core pieces of infrastructure. We all use them, and we all expect them to be in good shape. When a sidewalk is buckled or corner has no curb ramp, it can be more than a slight inconvenience. It can be a sign of broken trust from residents who expect us to do the small things right. It can be a major barrier to neighbors with mobility challenges who need to carefully…”
