“So just very quickly, I think that it's absolutely imperative that everyone gets invited, and I think that all invitations will be extended. However, coordinating several hundred people's calendars, possibly, potentially, if we're looking at county mayor, commissioners, state legislators, it could get very difficult to find a date that everybody's a part of. I definitely think the residents are ready for this to open and that advertised date is extremely important, has been out there for weeks. So I think, yes, absolutely. We need to invite everybody, but I think we, we need to stick to…”
“I think Labor Day weekend is a holiday, and you're going to have a lot of residents out of town. So the most important people there are are residents.”
“Thank you, Councilman. Any other comments? Oh, go ahead. Go ahead and do your council comments. Can I go back? Yes, go, sir. Okay.”
“Thank you. Thank you, Councilman. Yes, Vice Mayor Puig Corbyn.”

“Thank you, Bill. Thank you very much for everything that you do, that the committee does, and you guys do work very hard. The event has gotten better and better every year with your support and your dedication and the members that you have from the community you've brought together to support that event. So I'm 100% supportive. I don't know if we need a vote. Is there a motion?”
“Motion to approve by Councilman Pinero, second by Councilman Cabral. Madam Clerk, please call the roll.”
“Motion passes. Thank you very much. Thank you again, Bill.”

“Thank you. Thank you, Lorenzo. Okay, city clerk's report.”
“All right. That concludes our morning session. I need a motion to recess.”
“Councilman Pinedo. All right. All in favor, say aye. Aye. This meeting is recessed until the time is now 6.13 p.m. It is August 14th, 2024. This is our regular council meeting and zoning meeting evening session. Madam Clerk, please call the roll.”
“Mayor Christy Fraga. Present. Mayor, you have the floor. Thank you very much. Please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Porras.”
“OK, agenda order of business. Is there any deletions, additions, changes? City manager city attorney no change is added.”
“Okay. If not, we'll take it up before B, before C. All right. The only thing I would like to add is that during the public hearings, we're going to hear items A and E together since they are... of the same nature. Okay, we will now open up to public comments. The public comments portion of this meeting is now open. If you have something you would like to speak about on this agenda or germane to this council, this would be the time to do so. If you'd like to speak on a specific item in public hearing, we will call you up during that item. I have three comment cards, two for a specific item,…”

“Gentlemen, would you mind stepping outside, please? If you're going to speak, just step right outside.”
“Please see the clerk to fill out a card. Anyone else would like to speak during public comments? Now would be your opportunity to come forward. Okay, being none, we'll go ahead and move to the discussion items. Public comments is now closed.”
“Okay, Councilwoman Cabral, it's your item.”
“Motion to approve by Vice Mayor Puig Corbett, seconded by Councilman Zinero.”
“All right, thank you very much. I'm gonna go ahead and call up our young Boy Scout. Connor, thank you very much. to do a very quick presentation on his proposal for his Eagle Scout project. Go ahead.”
“I believe you have a presentation. Let me make sure IT has it up. IT? OK. You want to go ahead? They'll go ahead and put your presentation up in a second. Oh, it was attached. OK, go ahead, Connor.”
“Thank you, Connor. So what Connor's looking for today is support to work with our departments, with the city manager's office, to place veteran preferred parking signs in our public parks, and hopefully this building as well, so any city facilities. And basically what it is is just a sign, I'm not sure why the presentation wasn't in the backup, but They're putting it, okay, sorry. It's a presentation, I mean, it's a sign that says preferred veteran parking so that if there is veterans visiting the park, they would have a more closer and more convenient parking spot. There we go.”
