“Yes, sir. Chief, Deputy Chief, appreciate you both so much. I have 100% faith in you. I want to protect our officers and our force, but I agree with Mayor Pro Tem. I want the public to have an opportunity to come, voice their concerns, and realize I think a lot of their concerns, although well-intended, possibly with a little more education about how the system works, it can relieve some of that. So I agree with Mayor Pro Tem with the table, but thank you, gentlemen. What you do for the city is amazing. I've never been as proud of any force in my life. Thank you very much.”

“Thank you, Mr. Mayor. I appreciate, I got so involved in the presentation. You're right, this doesn't really require a public hearing. No, it's okay. And... And so I would be fine approving it tonight as well.”

“128 we're also considering 136 We have a motion before that motion any any councilman Wally go ahead and and it's only because I'm easily confused I was about to make the motion to approve the facade Grant for the other property. Yes, sir. That's we're doing all right Then then I do make a motion to approve the second facade We're going for another 7-0 here h2 and”

“Ashley, I love your concept. absolutely awesome. I am 100% behind you with the facade grant for both locations. One of the reasons for that, I have sat on this council and at one time, many years ago, applied for a facade grant myself, which I never accepted. I was approved, but I did not take the money. And that was about seven, eight years ago. I'm a big proponent of 50-50 matching grants. So I'm 100% behind you on the facade for both of them. Because of the plan for Bay Street and because of the fact that the city will put in the public restrooms, And the grease trap, I owned an ice cream…”

“Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Sure. In my opinion, the way to handle this would be recognize the motion and she can always reapply when she's looking for a COI or has a tenant for the building.”

“Just for clarification, is that up to $10,000 matching or... pay for the grease trap in total up to, if it costs $9,500, are we paying in total or 50% matching?”

“All right. Good question. Councilman Whatley. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. I want to make sure that I have a clear understanding. What is the side yard setback? Is it supposed to be 20 feet? What is in the UDC?”

“Okay. And you're the owner? Yes, sir. I have to say, and that's fine. If you want to come forward, somebody else might have a question for you if you want to come up to the podium. I totally support you having the two additional structures and the carport, because that's only a very small portion of the total size of the main dwelling. And one of them's a playhouse. So I have no heartburn with the variance to allow for more than two accessory structures. However, I cannot justify in my own mind the fact that 20 years ago there was a carport there that was torn down, and now you want to…”

“Councilman Whatley. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. I know it's very late. A lot of people have stayed up very late. Some people may still be watching from home. This entire council has been very upset and locked very hard by a surprising development that popped up in Westlake. I just want the public to know that I personally feel blindsided by it, insulted by it. And as an elected official, I will do everything in my power as one member, one voice on this council to protect our citizens, their property values, their health, their welfare, their well-being. I will support pursuing the protection of our…”
