“Yeah, and since we had a process question about the previous item, and again, I'm sorry, I'm also an Aggie, so don't hold that against me. What was the process to kind of create this document? Like, what did that look like?”

“Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Yeah, thanks for putting this on the agenda, Mayor. And then thank you again for meeting with, I think, all of us and then giving this presentation. It's been very informative. I agree with Mayor Pro Tem. I think... What I'd like to see in the next meeting is just kind of a broader discussion because this is a weighty issue within our community. I think before we approve a resolution, I think it's beholden on us to make sure that we give the community an opportunity, A, to see the presentation. So I would hope that this thing is made available somehow, like it's easy to…”

“I like this side better than the side of Matt. I'm just saying. You're good. You're good. You're good. You're over here. You're with us.”

“Thank you, Mayor. Well, I guess this is more of a broader question about bathrooms at Old Town Keller, and we talked a little bit back there. I guess it would be helpful to talk about, so what's available right now, and what's the timeline for the city to construct bathrooms there? I'm sorry, this isn't a question for you, but I think since we're talking about bathrooms, let's have that conversation.”

“Yeah, and then I guess my second question, I don't know much about grease traps, so could you talk a little bit about grease traps as it relates to this facility, what you're talking about with the coffee shop?”

“Thank you, Mayor. Yeah, I think I agree with Councilman Armstrong and Councilwoman Brennan. I appreciate you bringing the bathroom issue to us because it tells me that perhaps we need to have a conversation about expediting bathrooms for Old Town. I appreciate that you're the advocate for Old Town. I like your project and I don't know what the process is. I agree with Councilwoman Brennan. I'm interested in having a conversation about the grease traps and what we might be able to do to help with that. I just”

“Mr. Mayor, I got a question on that, if that's all right.”

“So I was looking at the front part of this and the back part of it, and again, For the upcoming November, December, and January, to line it up with the back end, I mean, I love meeting, but is there an opportunity to provide some parity with this? So like, for example, and maybe I'm misreading it, it looks like December 21st, we're saying that we're going to cancel the city council meeting due to Christmas holiday period. I know that we've got, like, the December that's coming up, would we not want to talk about maybe doing the same thing?”

“I'm just trying to help you guys out here. It might interfere with someone's vacation, but, you know. All right, so then, and then I guess the same question would be November?”
City Council · Sep 15, 2026

“Sure, yeah, absolutely, okay. I just wanted to make sure that, because we were canceling them in 27, that if there was an opportunity to do that in November and December for the same reason, which is to allow staff to enjoy their holidays without thinking about a council meeting.”

“I'm curious about the process. Is there a reason why we wouldn't want to do another work session before this goes to P&Z?”

“Yeah, I agree with the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem and Councilman Armstrong. I think it'd be nice to see these a little bit more Keller-centric, I would add, though, too, that when we think about like a train or a water tower, maybe also include maybe wildlife as part of that consideration as well. I mean, we do have wide open spaces and lots of trees. And from time to time, I do see white-tailed deer and all sorts of other stuff out here.”

“Thank you, Mayor. I guess real quick before I make a statement, I do agree with you that under the development agreement, I think the 30-day kind of moratorium or cool-off period is too short. I'd propose that we move that to 90 days. I agree with that. Okay.”

“I think the second thing is, you know, I appreciate everybody that's come out. I want to thank the residents of Llano Court for, you know, sharing time with us. I want to thank the residents of Marshall Ridge. for being active and reaching out and advocating. And more importantly, what I want to say is at the end of the day, data centers do not belong near neighborhoods. They just don't. And, you know, to Councilman Watley's point, Westlake shoehorned this thing onto our back porch. And it's crappy. And I think at the end of the day, you know, a gentleman stood up here earlier this evening…”
