“Yeah, I guess what I'm getting at is, and I appreciate that, I guess what I'm getting at is I don't want us to accidentally go down a road where we're approving tons of single family homes, laying down more and more lanes of road that we have to maintain over a long period of time. And those are, to me, just liabilities that we have to pay for down the road. And I just want to be sure that there is some guardrails as far as saying, hey, maybe we should improve so many of these types of projects because we're not going to get a whole lot in terms of property taxes from them.”

So just, I mean, someone, there needs to be some sort of document that informs the council from this one to the next, saying, like, hey, like, maybe the best use of land should be prioritizing these kinds of developments versus, you know, just something that's not going to make us a lot of money. And once it's built, I mean, there's not a whole lot we can do about it, right?”

“So, Council Member, a lot of you commented something I'll comment right now, but I'll just double down anyway. So, I really want to emphasize the need to over-communicate to our schools, you know, beyond just VCUSD. In particular, over-communicating to the counselors there that this is not just an opportunity for kids, but also if they have any high-risk youth, that this is a way to intervene and... GET THEM ON A RIGHT PATH. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF WHY WE'RE DOING THIS, BECAUSE WE'RE INTERESTED IN REDUCING VIOLENCE IN THE COMMUNITY. IF YOU GUYS COULD DO THAT, FRIENDLY ASK. ALSO, VICE MAYOR,…”
