“Yeah, I think you said that. How many years is the bond? They would be 30-year bonds. And they end up to 30 years. You guys don't have the option to renew the bond, correct?”

“And then is this 51, 50.1% or is it? 55%. 55%. Perfect. Yeah, good presentation. You know, it's funny, you're talking about schools here and I started thinking in my head, Actually, me and Mayor Taylor went to Crestwood Elementary School, and it probably looked like 70s furniture when we were there, and that was, I was doing the math in my head here, 87 through 95, and that's almost probably looks very similar. I wouldn't imagine. And then I actually went to La Jolla Middle School, first class through 95, 96. That was brand new when they first opened, and now you think about that, that was…”

“Yeah, good presentation. There's always been a frustration of mine seeing the empty bus routes that we have going, especially on the weekends. So I like what we're trying to do is more efficient. You know, will our users catch on or do this? That's the big question right there. I think the app will be our biggest ally, but basically what they put in their trip on how they're going to get there and that's how they're going to see it. But it is a change and sometimes change takes some time. So we'll see how our users adjust to that. And I guess this is a breathing tool that will constantly be…”

“So I got a question. I always find it crazy that you can't just go to the Vaisalia app and buy it. We can't just go to the app and buy a monthly pass. You have to actually come in person to buy a pass?”

“With that, I'll move that the council receive a presentation on the current progress and preliminary recommendations on the development of the short-range transit plan update and provide direction and input as determined.”

“Yeah, good presentation. So I remember the last carrier. Actually went on one of those planes to Vegas. And I want to say our air traffic controller was the person that checked us in. It's the most strict TSA I've ever been to. They left a note in my bag saying, we've gone through your bag. You passed whatever it was. And then our pilot was also our stewardess on the plane. And the plane went like this all the way to Las Vegas. So it was definitely an experience. So I'm excited for it to come back. I think it'll be very helpful. Sometimes it's hard to get to connecting airports. I think this…”

“Okay, for me, I would like to be part of this committee since it's in my district, but also would like to give the mayor the flexibility to choose the two members. So that would be how I would move forward tonight. But yeah, I'm excited to see what comes. I hope it's an affordable user. I was thinking that Surf Air, that's more like a private airline, for my example. It seems kind of expensive.”

“I will say this. I hope it's more reliable than the last one. Like I said, I had another trip. going to Las Vegas, and like a week before we were going to leave, I got an email saying, hey, your trip has been canceled. And it was finding tooth and nails to get my money back for that ticket as well.”

“Being on the BDC, TCDC, we talk to these big distribution centers that come in all the time. Number one complaint that we get a lot of time is it's hard to get to Visalia because if you're coming from a major, you got either Phoenix or Denver, then you come into Fresno and then you have to get here So I think it'll be very convenient for our residents and also people coming to Visalia to get this situation solved. So I'm looking forward to see where it happens. Like I said, being in my district, I would like to be on this committee as well.”

“So I know we've been very successful as a private, I know we've kind of had conversations that possibly maybe at some point, maybe like an Amazon Air or FedEx Hub or something like that. Would that take that option away off the table? Or is this affecting the private air market that we've been very successful in?”

“I move to adopt Resolution 2026-62 authorizing the issuance of bonds not to exceed 75 million by the CMFA for the benefit of Caldwell Associates LP to provide the financing of the project and to satisfy the requirements of Tax and Equity Fiscal Responsibility Act, the Code and the California Government Code Section 6500, and deposit the city's share of bond issuance fees into the redevelopment agency's successor housing fund to support affordable housing.”

“I'll just reiterate what I was saying before about this. I know we've talked about this. These are all things that we've already been doing to get this pro-house designation, something not required by the state, but yet it is required by the state because if you want any kind of funding, you have to do it, but they're not requiring you to do it. So I'm just kind of playing that game. I just hope this doesn't tie our hands up in the future or... prevent us from doing something in the future but i know we've been doing these things so well we essentially have to pass it tonight or we won't get…”
