“Item passes 5-0. Thank you very much. Next, we're going to regular items and public hearings. Comments related to regular items and public hearing items are limited to three minutes per speaker for a maximum of 30 minutes per item. The mayor may reasonably limit or extend public comment periods to preserve the council's interest in conducting an efficient, orderly meeting. Item number one is a shopping cart ordinance update. Staff report, please.”

“absolutely thank you um our city continually demands that we keep our city beautiful and one of the big complaints i think we get is shopping carts and so you know that's one of the one of the reasons why we started our sweep team a year and a half ago was to make sure that our streets were keeping uh beautiful whether it's just trash shopping carts or whatever and so And it kind of puts us in a weird position because at the end of the day, these stores are victims because someone's taking their property, but then they're also not reporting it. So they're also part of the problem. And then…”

“Yeah, we appreciate it. I mean, chemical agents and direct impact munitions. I mean, that's a really scary way to say less than lethal, you know, which is what we want. So we appreciate what you guys do. You guys are obviously a great asset to our community, and we appreciate the report. So we'll go ahead and open this up to the public. Anyone wishing to speak on this item, come forward and state your name and city of residence.”

“Good afternoon. We're going to go ahead and get started and call this meeting to order. We appreciate your patience. We were checking out a new fire truck, or excuse me, a new trash truck. It's an electric trash truck. It's the first one that the city has. And then we're also making sure that all of our systems are up and running. Today's the first day that we're doing our new online call-in option. So let me go ahead and read the new word or the verbiage that's going to go along with that. Let's see. We're going to go ahead and start with public comments. Citizens are now invited to comment…”

We got to come in a few days ago and practice everything, and it looks like it's working well, so thank you. All right, so we're going to go ahead and close public comments, and we are going to go ahead and open up the first portion of the work session, which is a proposed elimination of Transit Fixed Route 17. “Yeah, I was running the same numbers as Vice Mayor Nguyen was running. $266 to get them to work, $532 to get them there and back. So unless they were making $66.50 an hour, it was costing us more money than probably they were making. That's $2,660 per person per week to get them to work, $11,000 a month, and $138,000 a year to get one person to work is what we were paying. I appreciate you guys saving the city money. We can definitely use that in other transit routes. I know the Vice City Connect has been wildly popular. I get a lot of people stopping me, telling me how appreciative they are…”
