“Great. Okay, so I guess for Jim, Again, so how long after the end of the quarter would it take to generate the report? You may have said this. I missed your opening comments. I apologize.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  2. Play at 51:04
“Okay. And then, I guess, what's your opinion on just posting the report in a public Like that, you know, instead of just sending it over to the city council, I don't know if that's. What's contemplated, but, um. You know, what are your thoughts on. Producing a report or just posting it.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  3. Play at 52:35
“Okay. And then I'm just in the suggestive language says, reports detailing all revenue collected, okay, by to date by item, it is that do you need any more direction than that? Or I think you understand what we want, do you think? Yes. Can you just explain what that would be?”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  4. Play at 54:56
“Yeah, Joe, I think my question is a little more basic than that. It's just in terms of, so if you're listing them by item, like what is your reading of the word item? And is that, I want to make sure we're going to get what we're hoping for.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  5. Play at 55:57
“We'll cover it. Your directions are clear, you feel?”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  6. Play at 56:06
“Okay. And then I guess, Steve, and this is going to come back to you, Jim, but Steve and I were talking this morning about revenue projections, and I think other municipalities have longer, you know, they have more data in terms of where the people are provided with longer revenue projections or Steve, do you want to say anything about that and something that can improve going forward?”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  7. Play at 57:15
“Yeah, no, I guess, Jim, like, can we get longer-term projections? Why don't we do, do you have them internally? Why, you know, why aren't we provided with that? Or, you know, and there may be good reasons for this, and I'm just interested in your thoughts.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  8. Play at 58:27
“Jim, so I think the issue from the rating agencies is also partially we only project two years, whereas in other places they project longer. I just don't know if those projections are just not reliable. Have you had a conversation about doing longer projections?”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  9. Play at 59:13
“Okay. And just last question, I guess, is this issue of, the revenue, so the quarterly reports, you know, so like, let's say we're in, it's May, 2026, and we've gotten quarterly report, you know, maybe three quarterly reports or two for FY 26. And we're sort of using those projections to see where we're going to end up at the end of fiscal year 26, but we don't have the full picture. Like, so, I mean, in your experience, like how much does that last quarterly report, you know, like sort of to follow, is this a straight, you know, we're seeing like a straight line or does it look like, you…”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  10. Play at 1:00:42
“And then just I guess the follow up is so but the cadences are similar each year. It will be predictable on some of these like licensing. They'll say, yeah, well, usually even though we're only 75% of the way through the year, we're we're probably only seeing 25% of the revenue from this. And then we check that from year to year like on how and even it's going to get.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  11. Play at 1:01:52
“And then do you have that, like, could you actually go through and, I mean, do you have a sense of what that is? Thank you, Chair.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  12. Play at 1:50:06
“Yeah, I'm just going to highlight for Council O'Reilly and the Chair, yeah, I thought the language is provide, the supervisor required to provide quarterly Revenue reports, maybe to clarify to who or to where, but leave that up for the filer. I think it's to the City Council and maybe it's just clear from the rest of the ordinance. But I think getting to your point, you could add some more detail, maybe.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  13. Play at 1:50:57
“Yeah, maybe something, I mean, yeah, I guess like different administrations might feel differently.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  14. Play at 1:51:30
“Yeah, okay. Thank you, Chair. It's good for me.”

    City Council · Oct 8, 2026

  15. Play at 1:08:04
“Oh, you're going to start at the clock for me.”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  16. Play at 1:08:12
“Okay, no, thank you. Just following up on that last question, I saw there's a, I don't know who he's writing for now, E.J. Dionne had a book out. Year or so ago about voter participation participation. He looked at Australia, which has very high participation They also they find people $20 if they don't vote and that apparently gets your voter turnout very high I I don't I'm not suggesting that here, but I mean is there some something we can do to Incentivize people to go out to vote. I don't know what you think about Australia I love that”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  17. Play at 1:10:47
“Yeah, well, certainly before we did anything like that, we need to make sure we can get people registered, remove the obstacles to voting. But did you have something?”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  18. Play at 1:12:09
“OK. And then so for same day registration or voting day registration, like I think you, what do we have to have in place for that to be effective? You know, is it, can we do it with the same staff? Do we need machines and, you know, like what will we need to move to get that, make that effective?”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  19. Play at 1:15:28
“Anybody have any thoughts on, we have a question, I think it's seven, about eliminating party primaries here in the state.”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  20. Play at 1:15:36
“Is it three? Sorry, I apologize. Any thoughts on how that would, would it impact participation, increase, decrease? Your thoughts? No? I don't know whether the no is I don't want to answer or no or would not.”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  21. Play at 1:41:38
“Thank you. I will say around the presidential election of 2024, with a group of fifth graders at the BTU school, I recreated something that I remember from being a fifth grader, we ran through the electoral college, and we did a presidential election. When I was in fifth grade, it was Mondale Reagan. And we didn't do Trump-Harris, because I thought it would just be a landslide. So we did Michael Jackson versus Taylor Swift. And Michael Jackson won the popular vote, but Taylor Swift won the electoral college, because she had California and Florida. But I mean, that stuck with me for a lot of…”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  22. Play at 1:44:31
“OK. So in terms of federal officials showing up at polling stations, can you just explain what was the real reason why they were here during the primaries, and then do we expect this to continue?”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  23. Play at 1:45:32
“Okay. do they care about all language access? I guess I'm just, you know, I know what's happened with the refugee program where now all of a sudden all we care about are white South Africans and, you know, that's the only people being admitted.”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  24. Play at 1:46:20
“Yeah. Okay. And then just in terms of the practice of putting people on inactive status, so is there a policy reason to keep that, like, you know, is there a good policy reason for that or just you want to, yeah.”

    City Council · Oct 2, 2026

  25. Play at 1:46:39
“Okay. Okay. I GUESS MAYBE PART OF THAT IS ALSO I KNOW THERE'S PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE CENSUS PROCESS. THERE'S BEEN AN ATTEMPT TO GET IMMIGRATION STATUS PUT ON THE CENSUS. I THINK COUNCILOR BRAVIN WAS ESSENTIALLY TALKING ABOUT SOME OF THAT. PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO RETURN THEIR CENSUS SO THAT MIGHT BE ANOTHER REASON TO MAKE SURE BY 2030 WE'RE NOT STILL RELYING ON THAT. DO I HAVE THAT CORRECT?”
