“Not much to report. Just a quick announcement. The Coconino Plateau Water Advisory Committee's annual field trip this year is a kayak float on Clear Creek. Sign-ups are all full for that, but if you are signed up, we're meeting at Buffalo Park and departing in vans for Makuta Reservoir at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided, and we'll be back between 5 and 6. Should be a really good fun day, take advantage of the last remnants of summer we have here.”

“Thank you, Mayor. Thank you, Tamara, and your staff and your team, Aaron, Lee. I just want to take a brief moment to commend you for the work you're doing. The city of Flagstaff, the Flagstaff City Council humbly acknowledges the ancestral homelands of this area's indigenous nations and original stewards. These lands, still inhabited by native descendants, border mountains sacred to indigenous peoples. We honor them, their legacies, their traditions, and their continued contributions. We celebrate their past, present, and future generations who will forever know this place as home.”

“All right, happy to read this proclamation on behalf of the mayor. Whereas Flagstaff is situated in the world's largest ponderosa pine forest, and whereas it is universally recognized that healthy forests can provide multiple ecosystem services, including reducing erosion and stormwater runoff, moderating temperature, improving air quality, storing carbon dioxide, producing oxygen, and providing habitat for wildlife, and whereas trees enhance Flagstaff's economic vitality and aesthetics, and whereas the city of Flagstaff is recognized as a Tree City USA, and whereas on August 25th, 2026,…”

“I believe we only have one applicant for this, which generally would be a source of concern for me, but this applicant happens to be very well qualified to do this role, and I'm glad to have him in the role. I would like to nominate John VanLandingham. I'll second.”
