“THANK YOU, CHAIR. THANK YOU, STAFF AND APPLICANT FOR SHARING THIS INFORMATION. I JUST WANT TO COMPLIMENT THE APPLICANT FOR THE DESIGN OF THE PLAN. I REALLY LIKE THE DECKS THAT YOU INCORPORATE IN THESE UNITS. AT LEAST THE FAMILIES HAVE SOME PRIVATE SPACE TO UNWIND AND GET SOME FRESH AIR. ALSO THE BARBECUES AND JUST TO BUILD COMMUNITY AND THE PING PONG TABLES. I KNOW THIS NEIGHBORHOOD IS IN THE IBC. YOU CREATING A COMMUNITY HERE IS SOMETHING I DO LIKE AND THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE NEIGHBORS AND I'M JUST GLAD YOU COULD BUILD THOSE CONNECTIONS. I DO HAVE SOME QUESTIONS MAYBE FOR THE APPLICANT…”

“Excellent. Thank you for confirming that. My next question is, there was an attachment on here. It was a PC attachment 5 involving affordable housing. AND I BELIEVE IT'S IN LIKE PAGE 8 OR 9 TO DISCUSS THE ROLE OF THE CITY IN REGARDS TO THE MARKETING PLAN FOR THESE AFFORDABLE UNITS. SINCE I'VE BEEN ON THE COMMISSION, I BELIEVE THIS IS MY FIRST ONE I'VE EVER LOOKED AT FOR SALE AFFORDABLE UNITS. SO I REALLY COMPLIMENT AGAIN THE APPLICANT FOR BRINGING THIS FORWARD. USUALLY IT'S BEEN LIKE RENTALS OR JUST FOR SALE, BUT CAN THE CITY OR THE APPLICANT LIKE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE MARKETING PLAN AND HOW…”

“And let's say like 10 years along the line after you complete these products, let this buyer decide, well, it's time for me to move. Do they just, does it have to go to like the city or they just go to Redfin or Zillow to like post this? But it's, because it's for 55 years, right? Yeah. It stays affordable?”

“Last thing I'll just compliment. I think it's a great location. These future homeowners could walk to buy groceries, go get a bite to eat, a cup of coffee, and compliment again for all your great planning.”

“Thank you, Chair. Thank you, applicant, for showing and sharing these great designs. I'm so happy to see that there's decks to take advantage of the wonderful environment nearby, especially off Fairchild. I do have a couple questions. I know there's an existing commercial building over there. What is the timeline for demolition and all that?”

“Thank you, Chair. Thank you for the presentation. I think this is a very important quality of life issue that we have to tackle. And I'm glad to see that you have the tools from the state to kind of uncover what's going on. Can you share any instances of how, like, Anything recently where residents impacted? I understand I heard before this meeting that sometimes these people go to the wrong house or something, and there's some safety concerns that you've heard personally?”

“And our city is full of dedicated working families, and it's something they don't want to have to be inconvenienced with. You showed there was, on the data, about over 300 in the past year, instances where you have to respond. Had any of those instances required a police response, or you had to...”

“It sounds because of that response there's probably arrests been made, right? Correct. Good. I'm glad to hear that. I have no other questions, but I just want to thank you for bringing this attention to the public. I think we should be supporting our local businesses. We have great hotels here. We have workers who who work there to take care of our guests. They paid our taxes and to have people who follow the rules and help bring to our tax base to keep our parks open. I think a law like this will help continue that. So thank you for all your good work and making sure to keep our city safe…”

“Thank you chair, thank you staff for a great presentation. Thank you to the applicant. One of the best presentations I've seen here at the IBC. I'm looking forward to following its progress. I drove by with my son a couple days ago just to see the site. I used to work in the IBC. Matter of fact, before I moved to Irvine, I was commuting to the IBC. I wish there was stuff like this because that would have saved me a lot of time like on the commute. That being said, I do agree with my fellow commissioners that should look into more affordable housing and our speakers here. And that I like that…”
