“All right. Thank you, Mayor. I just want to state, like my colleagues, I didn't sign the NDA either since we're making that statement. But due to my law firm's involvement with this issue, I will be recused as mayor.”
“Director Phillips. Thank you, Mayor. So I had a question on pages eight and nine. And this just my for clarity on page eight. I mean, the decision we're making essentially is 3 million one direction, 3 million other directions, the way I'm looking at it, if we go self funded, and things work out as expected, we save three ish million. And if it Doesn't work out as expected. It could cost us $3-ish million.”
“And then on page nine, with the gap compounding over the next three years, the self-funded number that's on page nine, is that the expected or the ceiling?”
“Okay. So theoretically, the ceiling in each of those years could be higher or closer to this fully insured number, correct?”
“All right. That's the clarification I needed. Thank you, sir. Thanks, Mayor.”
“Thank you. Director Phillips. Yeah, two points of clarification, Mayor. I guess it's probably for you. When will we actually vote on this? Will it be part of at the end of the month, early November?”
“Not anytime soon. Okay. And then one other question.”
“I'm with you on that. And one other clarification question. I thought I heard you correctly. You said the 23.6 of the expected self-funded does not include The levers or it does include the levers?”
“And I appreciate that. So on page 10, it says the carriers 2.36 million projection assumes these levers are pulled. So am I miss? What am I missing? Because I read that to mean that the 23.6 does include these things. Am I reading it wrong?”
“Okay. Okay. So 23.6 is the high end, could be lower assuming these levers are pulled.”
“Okay. I'm with you. I thought I was missing something. So thank you for that clarification.”
“Got it. I just didn't want to leave that out yet. And that's all I had, Mayor. Thank you.”
“Absolutely. If we will humble ourselves. Dear Lord, we come to you recognizing you as the giver of all wisdom. And in your word, it teaches us to ask for wisdom and you shall give it to us. So we ask you to give wisdom to everyone on the city board and everyone who works on behalf of the citizens of Little Rock. so we can do the work that you call for us to do. It's in Jesus' name that I pray. Amen.”
“about the single use vehicles. The idea behind that is once we go single use, that extends the life and lowers the cost. Is that a fair summation or am I misremembering?”
“Okay, thank you for that. And I think I have two more questions. You just raised one. So is there, I know you're talking about hybrid, and I know the city has a I don't know how many, but a handful of electric vehicles. Is that part of the calculation when we think about this?”
“We have not got off of that. And the police is part of that. But that's not included in here. So theoretically, and I'm thinking very big picture, if we added more electric vehicles, some of these numbers may be lower in the future. Yes, very generally speaking.”
“And my last question, the calculations, I guess these are based on today's prices, right? So in theory, when we buy something in 2030, it could cost more than what we expect it to cost today.”
“And I said that was my last question, but true lawyer fashion, I have one more last question. If I understand Director Comperis' question correctly and your answer, we're going to need more money than we've been spending to have the appropriate amount of fleet that we need going forward. Oh, yes, sir. Oh, absolutely.”
“I understand. Thank you, Director Hinton. Looks like you did a lot of work to get to this point to present to us today. So I appreciate your work and the presentation. That's all I have, Mayor.”
