I suppose last week was the K-State Homecoming Parade. It was a great turnout, both in participants in the parade and people on the sidewalks. I enjoyed riding in the old fire truck and then loved the game even more on Saturday, so that was good. This coming Friday, Fort Riley is celebrating the change of command ceremony from Major General Roane to Brigadier General Williams, so I plan on being in attendance and welcoming the new general.
So we need to do public comment on both resolutions, right? Second.
So Jared, we talked about, are we gonna have the same amount of money for next year as we did this year?
Have enough to go to the end one other thing that we kind of mentioned was the right now it's captain and below as far as the who can use the service and so I think I'm kind of on the camp of maybe having it be enlisted you know instead of having officers being able to use the ride share but it just I mean something we might we'll have to talk about more on the mpo board
Okay. I wish it was set up so that we wouldn't have a point where we run out of money. That's my concern.
the graveyard so we don't see a lot of changes very rapidly so there's also not a huge threat so just quickly going back to Jim's question about the so if like the the mausoleum roof did collapse would the city be responsible to putting to fixing it or is it somebody else I'm not positive Larry's not here is he
I'm interested in pursuing the nomination excluding the Sexton's house, but I definitely want to talk to some people, too, before I finalize that.
So I like the idea of having the two nominations and trying to quiet the title.
to the base and have other assets contributing to that so I was wanting to jump in with so the the TIF district is expecting right now we're talking 80% to the foundation and 20% to the city I'm wondering if you know as good partners if we'd be better off being 50-50 on the TIF district having
I this is what I was wanting yeah several months ago and I would say that you guys have brought the numbers and I think that it's realistic but I mean I also represent the city and you know we're we've we've invested a lot of money in this North Campus corridor also and The fire station, we're probably moving a fire training facility before too long. There's things that we're spending money on. It's a significant investment. It's an important investment. But I also echo some concerns about when we did the Hy-Vee, we'll call it the Hy-Vee development, but you know that you know some some…
Oh, nowhere to go. It was an honor to be invited to the 9-11 commemoration ceremony at Fort Riley's Global War on Terrorism Memorial. Mayor Adam Cech and myself represented Manhattan at the event. Solemn but important to remember the victims of 9-11 and the soldiers who died serving in the Global War on Terror.
So looking at the library funds, I'm seeing that the library funds grew compared to the RCPD fund went down, but the library funds went up. I think you told us that we legally can't do anything to prevent the library from getting their increase in budget.
Thank you. So as far as the employee, the salary adjustment of 3%, how did we come up with the 3% number as opposed to 2% or 4% or? What's your thoughts on that?
One second. So just for clarification, so we've got to do the revenue neutral rate. If we do that at 52.8, then we can still do 52.5? Or do we have to do the 52.5 here in this first?
I appreciate Colin, Gary, John, Anthony, Trish, Alex for coming and talking and giving their thoughts. We heard it a lot on the campaign trail. We definitely hear it's inflation, it's taxes, it's inflation, it's taxes, it's inflation, it's taxes. And we've got to continue to work harder to be more efficient with the city, and we're going to keep trying to do that. So that's where I'm at.
Do we have any employees that are getting stuck at the maximum?
And just so everybody's getting a 3% raise, but we're also changing the salary scale. Is that what you're saying? Correct.
I think there was a question about the conservation district. Can you maybe explain that for me a little bit?
I move that we accept Ordinance 7841. CHRISTIE WOODARD- Second.
Yeah, I would echo that. It wasn't really on my radar until Friday. So I would be very comfortable if we just took another two weeks and put it on the agenda, right back on the agenda in a couple weeks and get back after it. But it's a lot of pages.
