“I feel for you. You assumed you were going to be buying a house that you could live in and do whatever you want with. But when you're buying a property, you've got to do investigations. And you've got to find out what you're buying, what the zoning is, what you can do with it. And it's unfortunate that you didn't And that's all we're looking to get. Well, yeah, but I'm not done expressing it. I mean, I feel for them, but it's also zoned light industrial. And so that means you can't go and expand a house. And you can't add ADUs, which I don't even know why we're talking about ADU on here,…”

“I also attended the Mayor's Conference and that was a great presentation by the President of the college I went to. I was at the Rotary Lunch at Freedom. for a while. Since the last meeting, I've also attended the planning committee meeting, CCTA. I had a trans plan meeting. I had a MCE meeting. I was at the swearing in today for our newest officer. I did the ribbon cutting for a wine tasting, which looks great. And Julie DelBarbera did a great job of remodeling the women's club. I attended a CCTA TEP meeting discussing the future transportation expenditure plan. Today I met with Rashidi…”

“4.10. If it's OK, I'll talk about all three at one time. I was going to tag along with Councilmember Williams. But same reason. I just wanted to highlight these three items. 4.10 is widening of O'Hara and going to two lanes in the northbound direction from, I think, Grapevine, just south of Grapevine, all the way up to Laurel. So improving the traffic flow there. 4.11 is the Main Street, Rose Avenue intersection improvements and signal, which has been needed for a long time. And same with 4.12 is the signal and improvements at Delta and Main obviously also have been needed for a long time. So…”

“VICE CHAIRMAN MILLER- Vice Mayor Meadows. To address Councilmember Shaw's comment on boat parking, I would assume it would be just like any other parking. My assumption when staff put in limousine and bus is when they come in and double park and take up the street. That's my assumption. I could be wrong, but staff can correct me. I'd be OK with 10 permits. I know we talked about 15 before, and that's what's presented. I've kind of run the numbers in my head, and 10 is 5% of the housing stock in that area, roughly. How many days, if I converted a unit to short-term rental, how many days out of…”

“I move approval, moving forward with this item, lowering the permits from 15 to 10, addressing it one year after it's implemented, or after we've had a year to look at it. So my motion is to lower the permits to 10 and to bring it back in a year after implementation for a review.”

“Since our last meeting, I've attended MC board meeting, CCTA board meeting, which we'll also have one tomorrow. We'll have two meetings. One will be discussing the expenditure plan that will be coming up to hopefully replace Measure J. I attended Summerfest, Juneteenth, and CCTA Planning Committee meeting, and then swearing in yesterday of our newest officer.”

“So with us going to the meetings having to be online, I would like to look at our public comments. We run public comments at the beginning of the meeting, which I'm fine with. I was talking to a city council member in a city in Central County. They have their public comments in the beginning with a limited time, and then if they go over that time period, they will continue at the end of the meeting so that they can get the business of the meeting. That's on the agenda, done. So I would like to have that discussion.”

“My comment is as we move forward, I would like to see picture books so that it's easier for us to follow along in what you're trying to describe in words. So if you've got examples, that would be great. I mean, reading through what was presented in the staff report and the agenda, I mean, I understood a lot of it, but it would be nice to see examples. So that just makes it a lot easier.”

“I'm good with what both Councilmember Shaw and Williams said. I think Councilmember Shaw was kind of saying don't throw, just because it's 23 years old, don't throw it all out. And I don't think you guys are. You're just looking to update where it needs to be updated. I'm good with all that.”
